Decided to delay it to January because a mate of mine is moving there at that point. His mate is buying a house down there and will charge us just $100 a week which is about half as much as the normal rate. Too good of a deal to pass up so I'm timing my move with theirs.

Insulin resistance causes high blood sugar. Metformin is a type two diabetes drug which reduces blood sugar, therefore does the opposite of suppressing insulin, it encourages it to work better.

Something doesn't add up to me, but I'm not the professional.

Whatever it does, it's doing the job.

Basically my insulin level was elevated, along with my cholesterol. She is of the opinion that using this drug will help as my insulin level won't be so high and therefore won't promote fat absorption. That is roughly how it was explained to me.

Ahhhh. It's making the insulin work better to break everything down. That makes more sense.

Gotta be real careful insulin resistance doesn't turn into diabetes.

I'm not overly worried about the insulin thing, not much I can do but follow my dietician + doctor's recommendations and take the drugs (note: eat food with them from now on). They seem to feel that my insulin levels will level out once I leave the 100kg club.

Losing weight means you lessen the chance of getting it anyway. Go you.

It really upsets me when I tell people I'm diabetic and they look me up and down and say "type 1 or 2?"

That used to annoy missus MKEB.. to no end. But since she has been on her pump she has lost 11kg.
