@BF. There's so many differences I wouldn't know where to start. IMHO, most of them are great and make their education system fairly solid, less stressful and quite well manager. Some are terrible and should be wiped our from every education system in the world.

What's good? Grading is more lenient if you show effort and dedication, professors are incredibly approachable, classes are shorter and more efficient (no more 3hr lectures) and a 4.0 GPA scheme is incredibly easy to manage

What's bad? Communication at times is a pain, in some ways, still a step behind technology wise, students are lazy on most parts.

What the biggest killer is, and what I'm struggling with is "dead week", it's basically the week before finals. A time in which, you still have class, you have all your major assignment due, major presentations due, lab reports and thesis due as well as having to attend all your classes and study for finals next week. So it's literally a week of non-stop hell.

-------

So today, a student in the residence hall next to where I live blew a dorm room up with an aerosol can. Took out his room, damaged the wall, sent doors flying and such. He's in hospital with burns to more than 1/2 his body and second/third degree burns. Nasty stuff.

Shit mate... that's pretty intense. Not hard to see why you chose to go there though. With what you want to do though I suppose the dead week is going to prepare you to what you could face later on in life.

It's hard now but it'll pay off.

Does anyone get the impression that the media wants these storms to actually destroy homes? The number of warnings etc they are playing and the language in the articles are... interesting, to say the least.

Feel sorry for the first guy I got out, it was the pie to end all pies and he had been playing a great controlled innings for about 25 overs. About 3rd ball (I think). Ball floats out of the hand, half tracker that barely turned. Playing at Oatley, if hit right, it should of been in Penshurst. Instead he misses it, and it gently clips off stump. BOOM!

Was feeling shitful about cricket. Went and read 4C. I now realise life could be so very much worse. Better than therapy!

Ah we just suck and I can't seem to fix it. 9 losses in a row, and not a single bit of luck our way all year. It just wears on me as captain I guess, especially when you get out to a diving full length catch at cover and then in the field, you dive full length and get nothing but a bruised finger and a faceful of mud. Where's my luck goddammit :fist:

I always feel shittier in horrible grey wet weather anyway. Need a red!
