13 years of catholic schooling for me, and i turned out OK...

6 years of it. Both principal and vice principal of my second high school are up for 30+ abuse charges and Pell lived opposite our compound.

While I remain a Christian, and while I accept people do heinous things and regret them / are repentant, I find it both unnerving that I was in such close proximity to these people and very difficult to forgive them for what they did.

And yet, one of my favourite moments in life was the pep talk our principal gave us at the half time of our touch footy grand final in 2001. We were 1 all and against the best team in the competition. He walked in, gave us the most ferocious pep talk I've ever heard (and our coach didn't need to say a word) and walked out to go 6-1 up in 5 minutes.

How one can remember so fond a memory from such a man identifies the Jekyll and Hyde nature of humanity's behaviour.

Just got a job offer in Dalian. Do I want to go teach in the province bordering both North Korea and Mongolia?

It's been a long while since a Knights' performance meant much to me beyond fulltime. I remember days (plural) back in the day where I'd have analysed and agaonised over a game until I could tell you what went on in what minute.

These days, I'm more inclined to be upset about a loss in the FFBRL  Being a Knights fan has ruined football for me.

Have either of your teams breached the salary cap in order to win a spoon?

the dragons have generally ruled my mood.. We win, I'm happy for the next few days..

we lose, I'm grumpy..

i had a moment last year, after another liss where i thought to myself "meh, it's only a game.. Football doesn't mean anything really"

i stopped, found the nearest mirror, stared into my own eyes, and slapped my face as hard as i could..
