The annual Warriors' fade is in full effect. World-beaters a few weeks ago and they've just looked dire since.
Almost like their halfback, also one of the better players in the world, broke his ankle and other important forwards like hoffman and thompson have been missing, along with an inexperienced backline.

Sure they have the rep, but i think this years fade out is much more injury influenced than others, bit different to other years.

Second half of the roosters game was enjoyable yesterday. It was actually nice to see the maligned Kurt Gidley playing some of his best footy in a while. Can't really fault his effort even as his performances have faded in the last three years

Mis - when you back in Aus? Your updates make me jealous and I don't want to be a jealous friend :(

Not until October/November.

Here in Tanzania until month's end, and then I'm off on a site inspection. A week each in Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya before I bid Africa farewell.

Then headed to Thailand for three weeks for a conference, and possibly to Singapore for another conference after that.

Also got my name in the ring for a potential press trip to Nepal, but I don't like my chances. There's a lot of higher profile travel bloggers also gunning for the gig.

So... basically you're going to tease me and others with exotic pictures of the world while we sit in our office sipping shitty coffee and watching the rain outside?

Thanks, Mis. What a friend. :sarcasm:

 Far out, I am now your jealous friend!

If it's any consolation, the next three weeks and the previous four have been largely confined to the same office/house six days a week.

I had a great weekend. burgers and watched the footy with mates on friday night. Saturday went and watched the Bears, which was very enjoyable, and kicked the footy round on North Sydney Oval afterward which was great. 10 year old me's dream. Was buzzing afterward. Went for dinner with friends in balmain that night
Then city2surf yesterday. Ran really strongly. 61:17 was slower than last time I did it (58:29) but alot of the extra time was to do with running from yellow grop rather than red (my good time was too long ago to qualify for it). So uch ducking and weaving around different people would've added a reasonable amount of distance. Great day for it as well and really satisfied post-race feeling.

Snowboarding next weekend :)

I quite like the Raiders this year. Playing some good footy, good to watch. Reckon they'll be very good next season.

Sharks did well one year after having a similar season to canberra (losing alot of close ones). 08 I think, got hammered in the prelim by Melbourne.

Roosters were good for a while but alot of that was Fittler.

I just think Canberra have recruited quite well in the last year or two and they'll be pretty competitive next season. Couple of teams who have been up there for a while will be ready to step back a bit as well (Roosters and Rabbits I suspect) so there should be an opening there.

Could well never get anywhere.

Also would be funny to see Stuart have success after Parra and him splitting after a season (when he was probably going to do similar to what they've been slowly doing since - clearing out the joint).

I keep meaning to sign up to a tipping comp every year, but I struggle to commit to them.

Fantasy is the new tipping for me.

And then the year after only missed out on the spoon on F/A

Tipped Tigers because I saw they had a few out, particularly Hodgson. He plays and they lose anyway. Jizzinmypants.

Played oz tag last night. Led 6-5 against a better side. Drew 9-9, extra time we lost 10-9. We played well but should have had a better second half. A combination of fatigue and just not wuite turning it on.

Had a good game despite making a Cooper Cronk errot off the kick iff that they scored from, and being off in my tags.

The nagging of greatness that we all have...
