Nah it was verbal only sadly. The leave thing is being sorted (apparently) but I can't afford to pay back the pay out so my AL is gone. They have agreed to allow me my previous level balance in unpaid leave so I can actually accrue some more though.

It's just super frustrating that over ten years with someone gets you nothing in return. I don't expect the earth but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a bit more than the average weekend casual

It's my firm belief that at least 95% of companies are arseholes when it comes to severance.

When they hit the eject button nowadays it's all about getting you out the door as quickly as possible. Doesn't matter if you've been a faithful employee for a number of years.

We had a few people made redundant here recently and the way it was handled was scandalous.

One lady had been here for over 25 years, was offered a voluntary redundancy payout and knocked it back as it was not representative of the time she'd spent here. Something like 20 weeks pay.

A month later she found out she had Cancer and was given 12 months to live. She went back and asked if she could reconsider the offer as her circumstances had changed and they knocked her back.

It was only that the rest of the office threatened to walk that they made her the offer again.

We had another lady here who had a similar but higher ranked job to a guy down in Melbourne who was here on a 12 month contract. They asked the two to re-apply for one job and despite the fact that she was the best qualified and had been here the longest, the Melbourne guy got the job because he was the lower paid of the two.

The guy down in Melbourne was here for just over 12 months and then decided to go back O/S anyway meaning they then had to hire someone else.

Just ridiculous the sort of shit that goes on and this isn't the only company I've worked for that has been doing shit like that... They all do it.

I'm really sorry to say this Baz, but it sounds like they are trying to manage you out. I truly think you need to get some legal advice on this. I think you are too good of a bloke to be treated like shit.

In all honesty I think it's just a case of rank incompetence...based on the fact that after I expressed disappointment I was immediately offered the same role at a store like a suburb south of the one I wanted. So who knows. So long as they keep paying me until I get elsewhere that's all I really care about

The essay I handed in was one of tge worst I've done, and was four days late despite a week extension.

It was hilarious hearing Sterling almost going all Paul Carige on Mitchell.

If 9 had any sense they'd punt everyone except Sterlo amd remove all restraints.

Floats bothbways too. I had a worker here 8 years who I had to manage out. Lingerie shopping, misuse of company stationsry and printing, poor work ethic.

Companies can be worse as you say. But companies are just people under a banner. I just think humams can be shit.
