Lol. So work have f**ked up my status change. Was supposed to go from full time to part time. Instead they somehow put me from full time to casual. So all my leave is gone. Le sigh....

I think you should fight that one Baz. If you believe your understanding is correct, then get yourself and employment lawyer. One that does not charge if you don't win. f**k that, don't let them get away with it.

Is it an admin error or are they doing something dodgy?

Either way, he's still entitled to his annual leave, or at least a payout of what was owed if indeed he's now a 'casual'. Payroll, management, or whoever is in charge of contracts should have formed one with a new title and had him sign it.

Nah it's an error. Apparently my AL will get paid out on my next pay, so it's not a total loss. And given long service and sick leave don't get paid out it shouldn't be hard to get them reinstated. Just annoying, I had 10 weeks AL on my current roster. Hoping I can negotiate some leave without pay so I at least don't lose the ability to take leave this year

Didn't even play this morning, which is odd for me. Got up late, went to gym, then to pub, now chilling watching the footy.

Totally forgot it was ANZAC Day until I went downtown and couldn't get anything for dinner.

Terrible Australian.

If it wasn't for my mortgage I'd walk out on my job today. When we were shut down I was promised first shot at the place opening two blocks from my house. Today they tell me they've filled all the hours so I have to continue at a store miles away that I hate. Ugh.

Do you have any sort of proof that this was offered? An email or something along those lines?

If so, then considering they've also done you over on the whole part time / casual thing, I'd be ringing fair work Australia and lodging a complaint.

One mistake... Yeah, I could believe it but when you start to see a whole bunch of f**k ups going against one person then it sounds to me like they are working towards making your life miserable for a reason.

At the very least, I'd be telling them that you want your leave and part time status re-instated. They should be able to fix that. It's not their right to just pay you out if thats not the way you want it to go.

Nah it was verbal only sadly. The leave thing is being sorted (apparently) but I can't afford to pay back the pay out so my AL is gone. They have agreed to allow me my previous level balance in unpaid leave so I can actually accrue some more though.

It's just super frustrating that over ten years with someone gets you nothing in return. I don't expect the earth but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a bit more than the average weekend casual
