I have always found food in the US to be very bland, compared to our part of the world anyway.

Depends mate. Creole food is very tasty.

There are good aspects of american food and bad.

I much prefer the Oz/English breakfast to an american, I prefer our cheeses and coffee. I prefer the general selection of Oz vegetables with dinner (carrots, broccoli, pumpkin)

I've eaten in a lot of Yank military messes, and they can be hit and miss. they never have a selection of steamed vegetables that is decent. It's always a potato dish with beans in a butter sauce, totally negating any of the nutritional value of the actual beans. I do like the way they do salads at restuarants.

forgot to mention

a new year and Liverpool still sucks

f**k it's frustrating.

How the f**k can we go from smashing Chelsea (granted not having the best season) and Man City to losing to the likes of f**king Watford, Newcastle and West Ham.

Worst part about losing to West Ham, GKD is happy. f**k that shit.

Wishbone Chicken Mortdale > Henny Penny

We've been dicking with produce since time immamorial. The fact we do it now under controlled conditions rather than hit & miss in a field seems to make people scared.

This tends to be my view of it too.

If you look at most cultivated crops or domesticated animals, they bare scant resemblance to their natural forms.

We're just doing it in a more scientific and less patient way now, but with considerably more oversight.

We've mucked around with how we use seeds and farming produce; we've never mucked around with it at a cellular level. Vastly different.

Domestication of animals is far different to GMO too. Domestication is changing the rules around the natural behaviour of the animal to return a specific set of results. To use the same analogy, GMO is changing the dog's genetic makeup to return the desired results. Again, vastly different.

IMHO.
