Well Monk, I think nao is your time to change degrees and do Communications ...
blame 3rd party developers for the lack of quality titles on the Wii, imo. Nintendo haven't released a sh*t game for the Wii that i've played.they're pretty much the same...i need to get me a ps3. I got over fanboy nonsense when Nintendo started sucking, ie. when the Wii came out
So many series have become multi-platform titles it almost makes the argument null and void. From what I gather though, if you have the cash PS3 is the one to go - free online membership, the most powerful console and it backs up as a blue ray player.
No Halo makes PS3 totally unviable for me
That and the Playstation controller has always sucked donkeys
Yup...joystick is in the wrong place.
No triggers either

as for the underpowered hardware... well lets say i was more of a fan of it before i got a HD tv, and when i bought it at launch for a tiny $400, than i am now. it is really showing its age now.
after the relative failures of the 64 and the Gamecube, Nintendo knew it couldn't compete on a level playing field with Sony and Microsoft as the primary console of a household. there wasn't room in the market at the time for 3 consoles.
so they made the market bigger. much bigger.
at the expense of the hardcore gamer, yeah, but a lot of the hardcore crowd, particularly older hardcore gamers, had already abandoned Nintendo because of its cutesy image anyway.
No Splinter Cell: Conviction on PS3
look what i have.
i can already feel your future jealousy. look at how it fills my otherwise completely dark command centre with blinding, glorious light. yeah, you want it.
yeah i don't disagree with any of that... i just think it's a tad harsh to turn your back on a company that has given you so much over the years for making a move that they probably had to make to survive in the console market.I have a Wii...and the amount of good games on the other consoles dwarfs it. There are a bunch of good games, and some excellent (mostly Nintendo) titles. But for a 'hardcore' gamer, the GameCube was a far better console than the Wii. Obviously the Wii is popular, but popular does not mean quality.
On a side note, I'm getting Donkey Kong Country Returns on Saturday...booyeah
If an entertainment company stopped creating products I enjoy I'd turn my back on them as well. This isn't sport where you're encouraged to stick by your team even if they sign up Joel Clinton's or Sisa Waqa's this is merely entertainment and you're entitled to ignore products that don't interest you.i just think it's a tad harsh to turn your back on a company that has given you so much over the years for making a move that they probably had to make to survive in the console market.
either way your gonna be a massive geek monk. Congrats. Time to make sure you have every game console...you'll need it.

given that there are less great titles on the wii, i still paid far less for it... and for the amount of time i've spent with it and enjoyment i got from the titles that were good, i still perceive value.
Speaking of the GameCube, while it's library of game is superior to the Wii's I still can't get over how underwhelming those titles were. It's three biggest draws for gamers was a multiplayer game which couldn't be played online, a game that was later ported to the PS2 and Metroid Prime. The rest were either disappointing, underwhelming or pissed enough people off with it's debut image (who remembers the toon Link backlash?)
The things i would do to miley cyrus...
