Bunniesman is in love with anyone from Nambucca Shire. Hughes is from Mackville and GI Bowralville. If any superthreaders are from these parts beware, you might be stalked by a gimp.

Yep he's from Bowraville Qld. Grew up watching Artie Beetson play, dispite the fact he finished playing several years before GI was born

Since past form is the criteria, I say bring back Mark Waugh. Played a pretty impressive match saving innings against the saffers in the mid 90s. Doesn't matter that he's been retired for 10 years.

You're an idiot. GI never said he watched him live. It's entirely plausible that he meant watching tape of Beetson inspired him.

Merv the swerve could at least give some of these fancy boys some advice on grooming. Some of these hairdos make me want to self harm, and can someone grow a moustache please

Graeme Smith is not a good captain...top little spell of bowling from Hilfenhaus though, lovely to see that prick Steyn get nailed.

I thought that since Kirsten took over as coach, Smith got better at this declaring thing. Proved that thought wrong here and thank you Morne for forcing this innings to come to a close.

So, what did batting on rather than declaring accomplish? Maybe 50 extra runs, at the cost of 15-20 overs and a nasty bruise to their frontline quicks bowling shoulder...also a confidence boost to us for actually bowling them out. Seems legit

I'm in the stickiest situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck in a sticky bun. I'm all for cricket talk but won't abide African talk.

Should have declared at 500 odd, easy. >_> <_<

What do you see in Starc, Baz? At this stage, he seems just as ordinary as everyone else.

A quick young kid, with the advantage of variation due to being left handed, who can swing the ball both ways. He's inconsistent, as is almost any 22 year old bowler...but he's a long way ahead of Hilfenhaus and Siddle who IMO are positively pedestrian for the most part. Even without consistency, he offers a genuine wicket taking option where Siddle and Hilfenhaus tend to be very easy to deal with, given Siddle is basically military medium and Hilfenhaus swings the ball early and predictably.

I said that before yesterday was lost

It wasn't lost at 8pm?

Fair enough Baz. I can see why they went with the attack they did after last season but it's clear it isn't good enough. I don't think Starc is the answer at this stage but it'd be more beneficial than Siddle.

lol, did I say that yesterday? That was my thought the day before when someone else asked. But after de Villiers' wicket today, 400 was definitely when declaration should have happened.

I'm still pretty confident about the proteas from here though
