What internet browser are you using? On IE at work here, I have no Youtube toolbar, and on Firefox at home I don't have it.

I think you have probably accidentally downloaded it when d/l-ing something else on the internet, they give you those download boxes and right at the bottom in tiny font it has "Download xyz toolbar" and a checkmark next to it, which most people miss.

To get rid of those things, you often have to go into "Uninstall Programs" and get rid of "Youtube toolbar" or what have you, and then sometimes also have to go to your "C:\Program Files" folder and delete the "Youtube toolbar" folder and all its contents.

It can be a total bitch.

I have a pop-up blocker installed, hence I dont have problems, but if it's a toolbar thing you should be able to right click it and delete.

Click account name > Account > Customize homepage > uncheck recommended for you

Problem with this is that the software remains installed on the system. It's better to uninstall and remove the software completely rather than just hiding it from view.
