Kiki is a legitimate name in some parts of the world - I personally knew three Kiki's when living in Chile.

Stick with Kiki, I say - it's also memorable. Not that Keira isn't, but you know what I mean.

I say go with Kiera, Kiki is a nick name. imo its not professional to use a nickname if you are editor of a magazine.

If you're approaching someone who knows you in the RL world for a segment or something use Kiki, but for a byline or signature or whatever I would say Kiera.

Maybe do a whole Brad "Freddy" Fittler or Andrew "Joey" Johns thing.

Either way you look at it, people know you as Kiki

argh well now i get different advice. im so confused

Do you want to be taken seriously as a league writer and shake the tag of "groupie" which you say some people think you are? if so Kiera is the way to go.

i don't actually want to be a 'serious league writer', i never have. my role as editor will only have me write maybe one story per issue. its more creative and organisational

I think the "unprofesional" argument doesn't really hold much weight personally; it just sounds like something an office worker would say. It's conservative, conventional and boring. My view is that "Kiki" is a separate entity: it's the persona you use for your writing. I think it would only ruin the hard work you've put in so far if you started doing some of your work using your real name and some of your work as Kiki; people would think they were two separate people. I'm not really one to submit to the conventional though, and I think if you used your real name you'd be doing just that. My opinion is that you should do all your writing work under the same name, and that Kiki is fine. There will always be people who have an unfavourable opinion of you: if there aren't you're doing it wrong. You need to let your work do the talking, not your name.

I am an accountant, we are not known for being conservative and conventional
