Bit tough to call the likes of the Stewart brothers, Foran, Cherry-Evans and co. poached. Most of them came to the club as 16 year olds.

Most of those other players are rejects too.

Pretty much...most of the Roosters side aren't local juniors, we have 2-3 these days I think. But most of them are from country NSW and QLD clubs, or NZ...need to get a run somewhere. Or 'poached' while still in U20s. We haven't really 'stolen' anyone since Mason and O'Meley...and I would like to think we have learned SOMETHING from that debacle.

LOL it wasn't the fans, it was the CEO(Malcom Noad)... for some farked up reason he decided it was a great marketing ploy to make "bred not bought" t shirts. :crazy:

This marketing ploy has been haunting us fans for a while now.

Also the onus is still on your club, they should have just poached Parramatta's players like everyone else does :sarcasm:

It's funny you bring up the Chooks in relation to Manly. If anything they've taken two of the Sea Eagles brightest prospects in Warea-Hargreaves and Tasi. No hard feelings though, just shows how awesome the Chooks recruitment has been under O'Sullivan.

Plenty of quality juniors coming through too judging on their SG Ball side and how they performed in the 20's.

The crazy thing is they have another solid half prospect in Riccardi coming through. Spent the year in NSW Cup despite being eligible for Under 20's.

Former Broncos junior too although truth be told, he left the club at 18 and has improved out of sight for the Sea Eagles. If I was to bag the Sea Eagles out on that, it'd be like the Roosters bagging us out for Winterstein although he went from a nuffie reject into a handy winger. Or Dragons trying to claim Tariq Sims as theirs although he was a nuffy winger for them.
