Just wondering... when you're writing out the dictionary, does it have a recursive effect? I.e. every time you get to one of the swear words and write it out, does that earn another dictionary writing out, ad infinitum?

It will now, but I don't make them write out the whole dictionary, because if you give too big a punishment, they just won't do it and won't be conditioned out of the behaviour. 100 words plus definitions is enough

for some reason, this made me smile just a little bit. A year 11 boy wrote me a very cute poem today. I showed him that I got a girl to make me a poster of my favourite poem, so he decided he wanted to do one too, but to make the poem up himself (both these students are art students as well)

At first the poem didn't make a lot of sense, but in the end, I loved it

He had images to represent the first line of the poem, the whole thing was visually well represented and I didn't even get it at first

Love, Life, Lost and Lies all in your head;
Over millions of people get confused in too many ways,
Vierity of manipulation, it's crazy the way people are led;
Everything that happens is affecting all your days

Right or wrong, every one makes mistakes;

I fixed some of the errors, but I just was not sure with vierity what he actually meant, I'll have to ask him when he comes back. The poem is also way to po-mo, second stanza stops making sense altogether then laughs at you for being confused.

New cars are all auto or semi-auto pretty much. I never bothered to learn manual driving and I'll get through life just fine.

Unless you're driving a truck you don't need to know manual driving. It's going extinct.
