One positive about not having a team in the finals?

Being able to watch every finals game impartially while seeing video refs f**k up and cost teams games and/or premierships.

Got a bad feeling that this years GF will have some sort of refereeing controversy. And then, and only then will the ARLC do something about f**king Harrigan.

Shit, I find myself agreeing with Tim...

It's nice letting people think I agree with the obstruction ruling the other night. The interpretation has been that way for a while now, that doesn't mean it's not as dumb as dog shit. It's even nicer to see Tigpie fans in a huff about getting a bum deal from the refs for once. What was that penalty count again?

This whole interpretation crap is just bullshit.

The rule is black and white, yet its interpreted as being grey. Why ?

You either can or can obstruct, why does it need interpretation ?

Its just like the forward pass, which now days is refereed to as a flat pass, which means its forward but its legal.

We have a rule regrading forward passes but the interpretation is such that they are legal now.

Why have these rules in the first place.

Its now wonder the players are confused, so are the fans.

Rules need to be black and white, the worst of the trouble started when commentators and pundits started calling for rule tinkering to allow "interpretation". They invented a problem about the refs having no common sense and now we're stuck with all these nonsensical rule variations that change week to week.

Phil Gould is to blame. He started this shit in a Roosters v Dragons Anzac Day game way back.

I think that the flat pass is one that is neither forward or backward. It looks forward due to the momentum of the players running causing the ball to look forward compared to the ground.

Whilst true, Twizzle made the point, intentionally or unintentionally, that a lot of dubious passes (often the short ones that result in line-breaks, or the ones from dummy-half) are being called "flat" or "line-ball" when they've been thrown out of the hands forward.

So, any of you cowgirls supporters feel like a sig/avatar bet?

Sure,

make up 2 banners though.

One with Tariq Sims in cowboys colours with the words 'Gezza's finest' and the other with Fien in dragons colours with 'Mt Isa's finest'.

Loser wears opposite one.

Done.

I am pretty sure that anyone playing football from a young age is taught the ball is only to be passed backwards, which is neither forward nor flat. I have never read the NRL rulebook, so I cannot be too sure what it ever said about passing, but it would make the most sense to say it's either back or it's not
