Who's "twiddle dumber"? :lol:Mmmm steak, medium rare er I mean hell yeah! Mind you he was mean to twiddle dumber on twitter so he deserves a second chance.
Funnily enough I agree with everything you're saying.Consistency my arse. Someone came up with the Benji "drop kick", but, in a massive surprise to no-one, it was ruled a knock on. And there has been 0 consistency on obstruction calls for a long time (which I think is the fault of the way the referees guidlines are written). Now let me guess, you don't think the Dogs final try was an obstruction?
The consistency I refer to is that the officials called the same atrocious play a try in both SOO3 and last night btw. It was consistent - consistently bad.
The call regarding Kite's "kick" yesterday was certainly inconsistent based on that ridiculous Benji Marshall try last year.
Did your face go red on that one mate? :lol:I don't even have to go searching to know that you are bitching about that terrible decision in the Dogs Tigers game... Trust you to be defending that shit decision right up to the hilt though. Had it have gone the other way you'd be on the other side of the fence and in fact I seem to remember you being on the other side of the fence when an equally shit decision ruined Origin.
I am as non-biased as anyone when it comes to that game as I hate both of those teams equally and with a passion. Tigers got shanked right there though.
Consistency is one thing, but two wrongs don't make a right either and Parramatta were also robbed by an equally poor call.
By all rights, both of those referee's should be seeing NSW cup duty this week. Harrigan will find some way to explain his way out of it.
Joey Johns was right in his call on Friday night and anyone who has played even five minutes of serious Rugby League would know that.
The decision was terrible - but as I said above it was consistent. The rules and the way they are applied is a mess, but based on the precedent set in Origin, the try was awarded. Amazingly, myself and many others did say this would happen - a try awarded on that ruling would have an affect on a club match in the coming weeks. It did.
A couple of things on that though...
- referees seeing NSW Cup? The culprits were VIDEO referees and they don't have those in NSW Cup lol.
- I'm sick of reading rubbish comments that the "Tigers were robbed". It happened with more than five left, the Tigers not only scored to level and push the game to ET, but also butchered a few attempts from near to the posts. They got a rough call against them, sure - but it didn't cost them the game.
- I don't think the obstruction is as bad as people are suggesting, but still a poor decision and an area that refs should clarify moving forward.
