Never. He was fined and dropped from first grade after his first incident and subsequently punished every time after.

No worries. I wasn't having a crack. Just making sure El Dicko wasn't be a hypocritical bastard.

CCTV footage cleared him of any wrong doing.

Exactly. I'll be first to admit Watmough seems like a brain dead prick. But he was cleared and last time i checked being a wanker wasn't an adequate reason to suspend someone.
(Seems like fair few of them hang round these forums too )

4 week ban says accountability to me....

It does but thats imposed by the NRL, not Manly.
You said its Manlys' guilt. I dont believe that, nor do i believe they should have got a 100k fine.
The two players who single handedly gave bad publicity the week leading up to the season should be punished. More than 10K.

And what were they?
That he never hit the sponsor?

Yeah. From what I can gather he talked smack about the sponsor's daughter, the sponsor got his agro on and Watmough pushed him away and his hand may or may not have connected to the sponsor's facial region.

The CCTV and witnesses backed it up. Hence the zero charge.

Fair enough, Still doesn't take away the fact that he is a dog and Manly are weak.

Don't you love it, we win a premiership and all the vultures circling with all their advice and expertise in this forum want to see the whole Manly team thrown out of the comp.......

and what punishment has Stewart copped from Manly?

Well they arranged for and possibly paid for his solicitors so I guess that’s as far as Manly's punishments go. Although I’m sure Dessie told him how bad he had been oh wait he was just telling everyone else how unfair and wrong it was that someone dared to punish poor Brett Stewart. So maybe if Dessie had allowed Manly to actually punish him it wouldn’t have been for the 4 weeks but the simple fact is Manly refused to do anything about the situation so they deserved extra weeks added just for that.

Perhaps the difference in the Watmough situation is that it occurred "behind closed doors" at a club function, and not in public?

The club has issued a sanction (fined him?) and the NRL left it at that.

With Stewart and Friend the NRL had to act because the behaviour was in public and the clubs didn't go far enough in their punishments. With Seymour the club did the right thing and saved the NRL the hassle.

The other factor in the Watmough situation is the fact that the sponsor had already be escorted out of the function before the incident occured

Yes, should have been suspended if there is any consistency - no brainer.
