Are you saying the intent was to put him on his head or simply intent to slam the bloke and it went wrong? I think to suggest there was intent to upend the bloke is just silly.

For the record, this is a grade 3:

and grade 5:

Peronally I can't see much difference between the 2. Seems higher end grading is somewhat arbitrary. You get lucky and it's a 3, MRC are having a bad day and it's a 5.

One was an Origin game and Myles was a shocking tackle in my book, but everyone knows Origin has different rules! He was lucky to get the charge he got though.

As for Williams there was intent- as soon as you pick someone up there is intent, however there are different levels...I ask you this...could Williams have prevented it- YES he could have.

Nearly all your posts I have seen around here are you whinging about Manly fans and Manly in general.

You don't think that is a valid opinion? I know many others who agree with it.

Not quite but keep telling yourself that.

So how long until Des re-signs?

Thanks carch, compare Tony's to Myles (first pic in my post above). Myles was holding both legs and driving downwards. Surely they are at least equal with respect to grading?

Not sure if this is a valid argument or not but possibly the Myles one wasnt dealt with as harshly because there is more then one in the tackle, easier to argue that it was an accident because the 2nd tackler added to the liftting which caused the dangerous position...anyway like i said im nont sure if thats valid, just something i thought of.

+1,

Nothing wrong with a bit of trolling but i swear we had the same argument running for two months across about 15 different threads no matter what the OP was.

How can you say none of those tackles could have resulted in a broken neck? The first in particular which has the player being driven almost directly downwards head first could easily have resulted in a broken neck if conditions were changed slightly. Yes the Williams tackle is far worse but you're comparing 0 weeks (Uate) to 7 weeks (Williams).

I'm basing my opnion on the fact that I know you will whinge and bitch like a 14 year old girl.

So far I'm right.

Tony Williams' tackle is definately the only one out of the 4 that could have resulted in a broken next.

I'm willing to re inact the other 3 just to prove my point too.

Run at me

If someone like Dave Taylor did the same tackle on DCE, Manly fans would be screaming for the death penalty

So taking the 7 weeks means that he has pleaded guilty.

What are his carry-over points to be added to the next offence?

And what will his loading be for the next time .. with 3 priors inside 2 years, does it go from 40% to 50 or 60% ??

Agreed. Makes you wonder do you have to decapitate somebody to get sent off these days? We've gone down the AFL path where they just put you on report.

Put this on the IC's To Do list

I keep sayin' it. Any action deemed to be reportable should at the very least be a mandatory sin bin.

This is where the 5 minute sin bin should be brought back- 5 minutes for a reportable offence. Williams gets 7 weeks...what do the Sharks get out of it?

You have to give credit to firechild...

States that he thinks it deserves 4-6 weeks which is what Williams would have gotten if he didn't have loading for not being able to tackle properly previously.

A lot of butt hurt Manly fans in this thread.
