really?

one of the most dangerous looking tackles I can recall seeing.

Had everything...potential to snap a little blokes neck.

Even your sook coach tried to deny it.

standard Manly behaviour.

Yes, could have broken De Gois's neck but the same could be said of most dangerous lifting charges. Funnily enough even your coach said it wasn't that bad.

Nearly all your posts I have seen around here are you whinging about Manly fans and Manly in general.

You don't think that is a valid opinion? I know many others who agree with it.

Put it this way. Could these tackles have broken a neck?

Answer is yes to all 3. So the possibility of a broken neck is largely irrelevent. The whole idea of the dangerous throw charge being there is that any of them could potentially result in a broken neck.

Stop whinging, most people on here (not manly fans) agree it was in the 5-10 week range and he would have got 5 if he was not someone that had priors. Hopefully this time he sorts his tackling style out...there is belting someone and there is intentionally putting someone in a dangerous position

I've said that he should have been sent off and I thought 4-6 weeks was fair (funnily enough the poll over there -> suggests that this was the most common opinion). I'm not complaining about the punishment, I'm arguing against the logic being used by idiots here. Yes a neck could have been broken but the same could be said for ALL dangerous throw charges, that is the reason the dangerous throw is dangerous. Why is that so hard to understand?

No, not IMO.

Williams' takle was far worse.

Plus the 40% loading for playing for Manly.

How can you say none of those tackles could have resulted in a broken neck? The first in particular which has the player being driven almost directly downwards head first could easily have resulted in a broken neck if conditions were changed slightly. Yes the Williams tackle is far worse but you're comparing 0 weeks (Uate) to 7 weeks (Williams).

There is a normal dangerous through...and a T Rex German Suplex....there is the difference in gradings. Whilst tackles can go wrong (hence the grade 1/2 dangerous throws), there is a big difference to what T Rex did- intent. I have met the bloke and he would not have a bad bone in his body but on that night he had a brain snap and it costs him his rep jerseys. I expected a grade 4 or 5 to T Rex, there was no other way to grade it!

Are you saying the intent was to put him on his head or simply intent to slam the bloke and it went wrong? I think to suggest there was intent to upend the bloke is just silly.

For the record, this is a grade 3:

and grade 5:

Peronally I can't see much difference between the 2. Seems higher end grading is somewhat arbitrary. You get lucky and it's a 3, MRC are having a bad day and it's a 5.

Thanks carch, compare Tony's to Myles (first pic in my post above). Myles was holding both legs and driving downwards. Surely they are at least equal with respect to grading?
