Table Race

The race for top 8 is now more obvious than it has ever been.

7 Cowboys 14 6 1 7 2 4 17
8 Raiders 15 7 0 8 1 -24 16
9 Knights 15 7 0 8 1 -24 16
10 Wests Tigers 15 7 0 8 1 -59 16
11 Sharks 15 7 0 8 1 -74 16

These are the teams which will fight it out, maybe even Parramatta as well. All teams listed above are on equal wins and losses (barring Cowboys as they had a draw) and all have been up and down.

These are all their run homes:

Cowboys : Roosters, Raiders, Eels, Knights, Dragons, Bulldogs, Souths, Panthers, Tigers & Sharks

Raiders : Tigers, Cowboys, Panthers, Warriors, Eagles, Knights, Storm, Rooster, Bye & Souths

Knights : Sharks, Bye, Bronco's, Cowboys, Souths, Raiders, Eagles, Dragons, Bulldogs & Tigers

Tigers : Raiders, Eagles, Storm, Bulldogs, Eels, Souths, Bye, Bronco's, Cowboys & Knights

Sharks : Knights, Warriors, Bulldogs, Dragons, Bronco's, Roosters, Eels, Bye, Storm & Cowboys

Out of this, I would say Raiders are a genuine threat to us, hitting some form and having a relatively easy run home. Tigers may be a threat but are unlikely to now struggling with huge back to back losses. I believe it is between us and Cowboys for number 8 position, we both have easy and hard games coming up and both have been up and down this season.

Any thoughts?

I think Hulka's NRL accumulator thread gives you a fair indication. Depends on injuries.

Geeeeeeeezus. Looking at that I would say that we probably have the toughest run home :? As a result, these next two matches V Newie and NZ are in reality must win games for us.

This weekend is the make or break for us I reckon.
Assume Roosters beat the Cowboys, and one of Raiders/Tigers will win (tho' a draw would be better), then beating the Knights puts us in 8th place.

Assuming that:
Then the Warriors and the Eels have got to be gimme's (if not forget it). With the bye we've got to win one of the others. We're playing Dogs, Storm and the Broncos at home - all are possibles. And the Dragons are really hot and cold - it'll depend on the day. Then the Coboys away - again possible.

I think it depends mainly on Kimmorley and Peachey being fit. If they're both there, then I really rate us. Lose one of them for a few matches - it's a struggle. Lose both for wrong match (e.g Eels) then I think we're gone.

What's the status of Kimmorley? When will he be back?

In the Sunday Telegraph Kimmorley was talking up his chances of playing origin in 10 days. If he isn't selected we might have a chance to see him against the Knights.

If this happens;

Storm beat Panthers
Canberra beat Tigers
Roosters beat Cowboys
Parramatta beat Warriors
Sharks beat Knights
Broncos beat Souths
Dogs beat Sea Eagles

then the table will look something like this;

Roosters 28
Bulldogs 26
Broncos 24
Strom 22
Panthers 22
Dragons 20
Raiders 18
Sharks 18
--------------------
Cowboys 17
Knights 16
Tigers 16
Eels 16
Rabbitohs 13
Sea Eagles 10
Warriors 10

All very hypothetical ofcourse.

Then the following week if this happens;

Dragons beat Broncos
Raiders beat Cowboys
Sharks beat Warriors
Roosters beat Eels
Tigers beat Manly
Dogs beat Storm
Panthers beat Souths

It will look like this;

Roosters 30
Bulldogs 28
Broncos 24
Panthers 24
Strom 22
Dragons 22
Raiders 20
Sharks 20
--------------------
Knights 18
Tigers 18
Cowboys 17
Eels 16
Rabbitohs 13
Sea Eagles 10
Warriors 10

Now it's impossible to tell who will win in three weeks time but hey, we've come this far. . .

If this this happens;

Roosters beat Dragons
Panthers beat Raiders
Cowboys beat Eels
Storm beats Tigers
Souths beat Warriors
Sharks beat Bulldogs
Broncos beat Knights

The table could look like this;

Roosters 32
Bulldogs 28
Broncos 26
Panthers 26
Strom 24
Dragons 22
Sharks 22
Raiders 20
--------------------
Cowboys 19
Knights 18
Tigers 18
Eels 16
Rabbitohs 15
Sea Eagles 12
Warriors 10

and I'll win my tipping comp.

It would be preferable to sit with a large group of Sharks fans. If we all go to where the Army is we should be safer from the apes that inhabit that dump.

Yeah I'll probably just watch from the hill where the Sharks fans were at the return to Kogarah game last year

We better not have to buy tickets from their god awful leagues club again. What a great joke that was.

Get there early. Oki Doki can sell out pretty quickly as it has such a pitiful capacity
