we have'nt had a off year!!!!!

england....this england....our 2nd/3rd choice team due to injuries....performed EXACTLY how anyone with half a brain would have expected them to perform...and finished exactly where they where predicted to finish...

our positives far outweight the negatives...those negatives being our coach and acknowledging the strength in depth is'nt quite there yet for us...

but just remember the kiwis toured with a weakened squad and a sh*t coach in 2007 and got tanked 3-0 by GB

Please no more one-off afterthought Aus v NZ May Tests.

This match-up deserves much, much better.

England beat New Zealand in the Four Nations last year. NZ didn't play in the final. I also seem to remember a few years ago England beat NZ in a 3 match series.

They had an off year this year, they are clearly in the first tier of rugby league. If they played in a series with Wales, France etc they would kill all of them, anyone that doesn't think so doesn't have a clue.

Spot on!!!

Like Australia have been belting teams for 50 friggin years up until recently(did you have a clue about that),so if the Poms dominate the tournament for awhile so be it.

But if you only want Aust or NZ to be the best, just keep the International structure the way it is.NZ got better off the back of the NRL,The English don't have that luxury.

By the way,I bet all the people saying it wouldn't work would be the first to watch it if it happend,Nuffs.

Im not having a go at the English,I Hope they improve up to Aust/NZ level and drag Wales Scotland and France up abit aswell.
But look at the results for matches played in Australia and NZ,its pretty poor. When was the last time England won a series on southern soil???

NZ won the world cup once and tri/4 nations twice before they were(are now) considerd equal to Australia. So at best,England is a 1.5 tier nation.

FlameThrower is because I'm a St George Illawarra supporter, you know Dragons supporter.

Actually I think, because we have a Worl Cup in 2013, 2012 is the perfect excuse for a blood and thunder 3 test series between NZ and Eng.

I think the momentum that NZ has got with crowds should be allowed to continue. Tests at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch (or even the new covered stadium down south) would help to build on the Kiwis reputation. 2011 will also be a tough year for the Kiwis to get exposure with the Union WC. A home series in 2012 would give a chance to get back on track.

I think there is a great opportunity for a Great Britain & Ireland Lions tour of New Zealand. This would help to keep the Lions brand alive, and if? promoted correctly could be a winner. By having Great Britain tour, rather than England, it would allow those players who might declare their allegiance to one of the Celtic Nations the "opportunity" to be selected, rather than have them "defect" to England, and then not get selected anyway. A 3 Test series against the Kiwis with at least one warm up game against a Pacific team (Pacific Cup winners?) sounds like a good mix.
