Tap on the Shoulder Time

Gal will never make the decision to retire himself - the club will have to tap him on the shoulder in a respectful way.
It's his competitive instinct.
But I agree with others - 2018 clearly has to be his final year, the writing's been on the wall for a while.

Yep, when your best player last week, makes a few uncharacteristic errors(dropped balls) it doesnt matter that he saved 3 trys, missed zero tackles, made 40 & made the most hit ups & the most post contact metres, the writing is on the wall.

he’s still got a lot to offer, especially in middle defence.

If he’s stinking up our attack it’s the halves and hookers fault.

No, it MUST be Val's fault, just ask DTTC, he'll find a way to prove it for you...

Haha Reefy you are dreaming ... and it's not just the Souths game where Gal has been off the pace, it's been evident all year.
Nobody's ever questioning Gal's effort ... but age has caught up with him.

I'm not saying you would bench him, I'm just saying you pay him #14-#17 money. So somewhere in the order of 300 - 400K. It would be well down on his peak value, but he's getting past his peak performance.

Inferno he’ll be turning 38 next year.

We have players like Jack Williams & Scott Sorensen ready to step up.

Others like Briton Nikora and Billy Magoulias coming through.

We don’t want to be losing that talent because Gal stayed two years too long.
