This shits me as well and its nothing to do with my club. Player managers are scum, I don't believe for a second he was told to train by himself. Either get something back for him or play him in the lower grades all season.

If we do let him go, why do it for free? Why do we always get the short end of the stick?

Is there some sort of compensation strucutre for this? We should get some money or extra cap space the year after or given freedom to sign a player etc...

The most frustrating part of this is that not only did we develop this kid, but we stood by while he dragged the club through the mud with an assault charge and from a lot of reports it seems we were extremely good to his mother and looked after her when she was having some issues.

He said he wanted to repay the club, the money from the Raiders turned out to be too good for him to stay and do that...okay fair enough.

However to now allow his f**kwit manager to slam the club and try to bully for a release...it leaves a terrible taste in my mouth about Tapine and the whole situation...especially when this article came out two days AFTER we know Tapine was training with the team so we know this is all just complete crap by the manager to get a release.

We've treated that kid and his family extremely well and this is the thanks the club gets from him and his management? Seriously f**k the lot of them. Don't let the door hit you on your way out Joe.

It's a total f**king pisstake of the highest degree. Not only is he going to take all the development and support we provided him and stick it right up us, it looks like he's kicked off legal proceedings against us for the privilege. What a merkin.

We have to be the only club that gets sued for having youngsters poached from us. What an entitled little turd. Just when I thought we'd get through an offseason drama free. At least it rates pretty low on the drama scale in comparison to our previous efforts.

Joe will have to be really, really f**king good to eclipse his own ego.

That's another good point...there seems to be an extremely high level of entitlement from a player that wouldn't even be a first choice backrower this year in a wooden spoon side. He certainly has potential but absolutely not enough to act like he's above the club...although the Raiders offering him that much money for his level of experience has no doubt severely inflated his self-worth.

While I've been a fan of Tapine's talent, he's always come across as a bit of a big shot type of wanker on the field. Was hoping that was just an on-field thing but obviously not.

Hahahah! You're joking right?

Matt Gidley really handled this perfectly didn't he? Jesus Christ, what a shit show
The other CEOs must lick their lips when they find out he's the guy they have to go against at the negotiation table.

Feel like the runt kid at school that gets his lunch taken by the bigger kids. Haven't had lunch in a long time.

This isnt one of the bigger kids though. This is the Raiders. You just had your lunch stolen by another nerd.

Negotiations only start within 12 months of the contract expiring, I have no problem with the system.

The issue was that the Knights are going to suck hard this year, so they could afford to let one of their best 17 or 18 players rot in NSW Cup. If we were a chance of making the top eight both the club and tapine would have had plenty of incentive for him to stay for 2016.

And 80k is 80k. Better to keep the cash than having to hear tapine sulk in the media, and his manager bad mouthing the club and making ridiculous legal threats until November 1.
