You have fallen for the old Fox League News trick; who knows what the Magistrate actually said and what the context was.

Could have been;
- ‘You were drinking XXXX all night; that is reprehensible.’
- ‘You mate was being bugged all night and you cowardly let it go for a few hours’.

EDIT; I don’t know what the magistrate said, and I am not trying to defend May; sounds like he acted in a stupid way. These things don’t get taken to court frivolously. My point is that you can’t read the article above from Fox League and get a detailed understanding of what the magistrate was thinking.
I'm pissed off that the Penrith players decided to go to a place where the chances of being baited would be a certainty.

Best tackle he has ever done.
As much as I dislike this lot of riff players, I think the thing with this one is the dickhead that got whacked probably deserved it

Magistrate Matthew McLaughlin on Wednesday labelled May’s actions “reprehensible” and “cowardly”. He ordered him to pay $1000 in compensation to the victim and a $1000 fine. He did not have a conviction recorded against him.

“Reprehensible” and “cowardly” but the judge chose not to record a conviction?

Now THAT is “reprehensible” and “cowardly”.

You know when a dog gets poked, prodded, harassed, tail pulled etc for hours and eventually gives the kid a nip to get it to leave him alone but the dog gets blamed for it,

This sounds like one of those occasions. Taylan did just enough.

Still a bunch of smug merkins though :)

Interesting with finals will the NRL go soft.

I would say if this case was resolved in June or July he probably gets a 2 match ban.

I think Penrith will push the NRL for 1 match ban to have him right for week 2 of the finals.

I'm sure if it was JWH all the Penrith fans would be providing the same emphatic defence.

So why was he kicked out not Taylan?

It is all in the court papers as to what happened
Because the nrl players are somebodies. And that bloke is a nobody.

So apparently he was giving them some shite before he was approached by the Thugthers. No excuse.

Watch the CCTV

Same reason I've been asked to leave a venue for intoxication despite being a designated driver with a wrist band - because sometimes its the easier decision. My friend was intoxicated, so easier to ask me to leave as well rather than have someone lingering outside whilst my night continued.

It was easier to ask the no name person who wasn't in a group. I imagine the venue would also like overpaid young footballers to continue spending money in their venue.

Or the guy was a merkin. Either way, I wouldn't base a venues decision as the basis for your argument.
