I don't know players "develop" the kind of playmaking skill required in their mid 20s.

He is a less skilful Kurt Gidley.

I honestly dont see this as a problem. Kidley problem wasnt that he was a talentless hack, his problem was that he didnt understand that he was a talentless hack and kept trying to be playmaker...

As long as Mamo is smart enough not to think of himself as JoeyMk2 and just focus on what he IS good at, he will be an asset. If he can catch the kicks, covers the tackles and makes +150m a game, im happy.

A fullback doesnt need to be a playmaker, that is a luxury. Im far more worried about finding a Halfback that can be playmaker first, god knows we need one.....

What about Cameron Cullen at Goldcoast. Don't know his contract situation, but he looks good and will be stuck behind Elgey, Taylor, Roberts next season. Riley Jacks plays intrust cup for Sunshine Coast as well looks good, but probably stuck in Storm system behind Cronk and probably Munster next year if Slater makes a return.

The following team is based on the possibility that we won't sign anyone else before next year. Obviously it would change if we brought Bird and/Kostjasyn on board but this would be our best 17 next year if our squad remains as it is now, assuming we keep Rochow that is.

1. Mamo
2. Ross
3. Gagai
4. Pete
5. Chanel
6. Mullo
7. Hodko
8. Mata'ora
9. Levi
10. Sims
11. Sione
12. Barnett
13. Rochow

14. Randell
15. Paea
16. D. Saifiti
17. Pauli Pauli

IMO the second row is pretty good with heaps of improvement left in it. Our bench doesn't look bad either. The back line and our spine is a bit of a worry though and the big question is how are we going to score points? There's a few guys who can string together some second phase though so that'll be our best bet.

So sad for his career to end this way, he's been one of my favourite all time Knights players. Continuously punched above his weight and deserved to play Origin. Can anyone remember another long time Knights player who had as few poor games as Jimmy? Seriously I reckon he played maybe 2-3 poor games in his whole career, the rest of the time he was super dependable and always provided quality. He'll be sorely missed, especially given he would have been a perfect mentor for our young outside backs.

He always gave as much as he could, and worked his butt off to get better.
which earnt him 3 origin jerseys
Always has been a favourite of mine.
Wish him all the best

Always felt a lot safer in defence down his side.
Wouldn't hate it if he could work with our outside backs on defensive reading, if he doesn't already.
Gonna miss ya Jimmy.

Jimmy Mac never once looked out of his depth in first grade... from his first game, you knew the guy was going to have a career. Safe as houses and an absolute professional... all the small aspects of the game, the 1%ers, he was superb. Got there with hard work, rather than talent.

You'll be missed, Jimmy. Very difficult to replace in full. Needs to be working with our outside backs, surely... every single one of them needs his help.

Sucks, he was for a long time an unsung hero of our side. While Aku was scoring power trys, Jimmy was saving twice as many with excellent reads and sticking tackles. He scored his share of meat pies too by just doing the smart play

I echo the sentiments that he needs to be working with our young outside backs

Tariq Sims, Robbie Rochow, Joseph Tapine, Jeremy Smith, James McManus, Kade Snowden all gone for 2017. Have I missed anyone? And we've signed *drum roll* .......wait for it.......

No one! And we're linked to......... no one! I almost want this shit heap of a club to fold so I can support another club. While they're in the comp though, I can't bring myself to support another side. Therefore, my interest in rugby league in general is at an all-time low.

No one wants to come here... Its as simple as that.

A few years ago no one would have wanted to join Penrith either. And for years and years no one would go within co-ee of Canberra. Now they are attractive due to on-field reasons.

We have the cap space for 2017 (probably) but all we'll be able to get is Rory Kostjasyn.

On field? They are attractive because they have TPAs. Which leads to on-field success. Rinse, repeat.
