We also conceded 5 against south’s without JA on the field last time and 5 the first game..…. 4 against the tigers, 2 in the last couple of minutes without JA

And that disgraceful performance against the dogs we conceded 6 tries, also with out JA…. Also that shitty roosters game 5 tries, horrible attitude that game, also no JA…

Drown, Papa, Gutho, RCG and Mahoney played in all those games….

looks like JA isn’t the only one contributing to poor defence and attitude..

I have nothing against Jake Arthur as a player. However, it is clear that a better player could take his position. Jake isn't better than Cartwright. Picking him repeatedly in such a risky sudden death situation is stupid.

I think Jake Arthur is slow as a wet week. He is clearly rushed by the speed of first grade, and his kicking game suffers. He makes bad reads in defence and generally looks not ready for first grade.

But he is STILL a better option than Cartwright. The only guys at the club you might argue would be better suited to cover halves and dummy half are
A. Old man Rankin (apparently doesn't want to)
B. Perham (and this is arguable as to whether he would be better? Probably a worse defender than JA - which says something).

I don't get it... I don't like Arthur as a player and hope he doesn't get on, but if he does, it is because someone is hurt....

Good post. I will add to that that I AGREE that we should have someone better than him as next man up, but we don't. The best thing anyone can do right now is get 100% behind the club. Let's win this one and get a play off with the Cows for the GF.

Yes. JA is ordinary but we have no better options for a utility. Unless we run with Bryce.
The bigger issue is Makatoa. Id prefer Bryce of N.Brown to this bloke.
