The bench looks pretty underwhelming. All four of them have potential but, yeah, I dunno. The starting side is very tidy, though. Just seeing the sides written in black and white has got me pretty excited. Can't wait til Sunday!

Agree. But he is cover for 1-7. If Guth went down which is worse case Blake goes to wing, Brown to centre and Russel to back.

If a centre went down D.Brown shift.
If a winger goes down Blake and Brown shift.

Straight swap for hooker.

Plus who knows maybe they've tried D.Brown at hooker for 15mins to rest Mahoney.

Wouldn't Cartwright be a better option can cover more positions centre, backrow, lock and 5/8 if it was an emergency.

Nathan Brown has been injured needs a run in reggies before coming back hopefully in a week or 2.

He ha seen injured and played no trials. Could be he isn't ready or just not fit.
Both him and Marata will be back rnd 2.

Fair enough. When they are both back we have a stacked forward pack. I dunno about the Arthur selection, but we'll see.

Looking at the Bench with Stone and Arthur it Doesn’t make sense. If we had Brown and Arthur I could live with that.

Rein on bench covers what?

Cartwirght covers 5/8 poorly but is a good option in forwards. Id have him in my 17 but BA chooses his rnd 1 side on who put in the most in pre season I reckon for the bench spots.
Perhaps Stone,Kafusi and Makatoa have been more impressive.

Its a light bench but have you seen Stone? He has bulked up. The days of him being used as a hooker are over. He will be strictly a forward.

Our 11,12 and 13 will likely play close to 80mins. There maybe 20 spare between them.

Jnr and RCG will play 55mins each.

Bar injuries we need to cover 70 mins.

Makatoa and Kafusi will get 25 each and Stone will get 20.

JA may get 15 mins if the games been taken away from Titans and Moses gets an early mark.

We saw Drown move to the centres when Jarthur came on in the Panthers trial.... I hope that was just a proof of concept type thing to see if it would work if we need to re-shuffle the backline if an outside back goes down injured in a game and BA isn't actually going to do that in a premiership game to give his young bloke a bit of game time in the halves.... If he does, he needs his bald head read....

Unless Jarthur is there to give Mahoney a spell, why carry him on the bench? Teams shouldn't be carrying an extra half on the bench just in case one of starting halves get injured.... Benefit of the doubt this week but I don't expect to see him in the 17 once Marata is back....
