Titans have done the same with W Smith on their pine.

Storms bench is 75% nuffies.Manly have a winger on the bench.
Roosters and Brisbane both have a halfback
Dogs have Baili Bindi a halfback
Storm have Nikorima. Is he a halfback?
Saints have Mbye also a half or centre.
My issue with Jarthur being in the 17 is that he wasn't up to scratch in first grade in his preferred position in the halves. How will he cover other backline positions capably?Manly have a winger on the bench.

I don't like the look of it.Jake Arthur at 17? Unless there is some injury niggles to our halves I can’t see why you’d do that.
Looks like Drown is the utility in this 17. That doesn't mean he should start on the bench.Wouldn't Cartwright be a better option can cover more positions centre, backrow, lock and 5/8 if it was an emergency.
All true but is JA in our best 17 available this week? I'm unconvinced.JA covers for 1-7. If Guth went down which is worse case Blake goes to wing, Brown to centre and Russel to back.
If a centre went down D.Brown shift.
If a winger goes down Blake and Brown shift.
Straight swap for hooker.
Plus who knows maybe they've tried D.Brown at hooker for 15mins to rest Mahoney.
Got big hands @hineyrulzHe's been busy merkin.
Ffs uleh that's a cedar
Agreed Pou, I don’t get the bench selections. If we’re carrying Stone, we could essentially cover lock, edge forward (with Matto moving to the edge), hooker if needed and we can always reshuffle the backs. Alternatively, if JA is on the bench we can cover the backs and reshuffle the forwards. I don’t understand the rationale behind carrying both as they don’t provide enough in their preferred positions compared to others that aren’t in the 17.All true but is JA in our best 17 available this week? Maybe he really is the perfect backup?!?

Interesting point Hindy, maybe the JA selection is as much to do with bringing the best out of Drown as it is bringing the best out of Jake.Either do I. But it does put a few questions in D.Browns head doesn't it. Time for him to step up.
He barely set up a try last year. His attack was nothing but hot garbage. Yes his defemse was great but he can do that at centre. Coach has put him on notice. We may have a better option so time to step up your game.
Hands that would make a warfie blush………..Got big hands @hineyrulz
Stone and JA don’t make any sense at all IMO, I get one or the other but not them both on the same bench. So Mahoney plays 80mins again or we have to suffer Stone at dummy half which has never ever worked.Agreed Pou, I don’t get the bench selections.
