Sivo scored one try on the weekend that no other winger in our club would have scored.
Until we can replace him or change our style to not need a winger to barge over from 10-15 out, beating or taking 2 players with him, Sivo has a spot.

Sivo is a different player from running out of our own end compared to running towards the try line.

If he fixes the first part, no one would be complaining!

The question of who gives Hands a break is most interesting, given the make up of the bench.

Instead of Sivo chasing the collision. Tell him to get to the try line whether it be evasive or brute force.

I prefer he use his arms and risk suspension if he is running with venom.

If we put Gutho to dummy half, and hence defending in the middle for some amount of time, do you then plan to switch Gutho back to fullback after having had to do the defensive hard work in the middle?

He is fit. But will it be a drain on him.

Would you just leave Blaize at the back the rest of the game? What if its a tight game? Do you want Gutho out there in a key position?

Im not saying dont do it .... just interested how it would pan out.
Season is likely gone, so maybe makes no difference.

If it did happen it would be only the last 20 minutes of the game me thinks.

QLD have had merkins like Paps on the bench before and he comes on as middle half or second 5/8 or lightweight lock, floating around and causing havoc with fast feet. If Blaize is not needed as a sub in the backs for injury, then I reckon that role is the go.

Guth would probably be only at hooker for maybe 15 mins to give Hands a breather

Maybe 10 mins before 1/2 time, 10 mins after and then he can go back to FB.

I also like to try Blaize at FB in attack when we are in the opposition red zone. It's a place where we struggled to score being camped there with no results.

However, since Blaize has been at FB, we are scoring more from the position

Also w/o Hoppa and Matto, could throw Blaize in at 13 floating around the middle and also being the 1st receiver.

Give him some more practice defending in the middle. He is not afraid of the tough stuff that I can see. Though hesitant under the bomb

I do recall also that there was talk that Blaize was dummy half when BA was around

I am shocked BA never tries him in the second row...

Yeah thats the other thing .... if you are swapping a #9 its 2 interchanges used to get him off and back on.

Which i think is why it isnt as common any more .... often the #9 comes off but never goes back on, like you are suggesting .... keeping an interchange.

I wonder if a HIA or two (ie uncounted interchanges/rests) might incluence what we do?

i recall a comment that said, don't be surprised to see Blaize pop up somewhere in the middle
Yeah BA said that in the pre match interview in Darwin.

What does middle mean? Hr said bring him on through the middle? That could be fullback, dummy half, middle forward???

No idea if there was a plan. But any plan probably went to shit that game.

Just watched Trents presser. I like what he says. Very considered and comes across as honest. Also took responsibility. Appears to have a plan. Will be an interesting few weeks. Said Matto is still a chance as a few of the boys have bumps and bruises. Impressive thus far.
Lets go Trent.

Trent also mentioned in the presser that Blaize is tired and its a big step up for him. The reason he isn't staying at fullback is because he is still too raw/green when it comes to defensive game and positioning.

Not sure how he'll learn that on the first grade bench however.
