Sorry, I just wanted to say 'multivariate' because I thought it would make me sound smart...
I gave up once when living in a place where a pack was about $3 and you could smoke pretty much anywhere, including restaurants and bars. It’s certainly not the only reason and there’s no silver bullet. In your circumstance, your health was the main driver but the fact you hated the cost surely made the decision easier. Taxation and regulation (smoking laws and advertising restrictions) are the most effective levers at a population level though. The link I provided above includes this graph from the US:

Even their relatively lower taxation policy indicates a correlation between price and sales.
I don’t think that’s correct (the price of cigarettes decreasing in the US).I gave up once when living in a place where a pack was about $3 and you could smoke pretty much anywhere, including restaurants and bars.
There are some good correlations in that graph but I also note that the price has decreased in recent years but use is still falling off a cliff. I'm not saying tax isn't a deterrent as I'm sure it is but I think its effect is likely overstated.
I was going off your graph which showed a decrease or stabilisation around 2003-04 but use continuing to fall steeply.I don’t think that’s correct (the price of cigarettes decreasing in the US).

Trends in Annual Sales and Pack Price of Cigarettes in the US, 2015-2021 - PMC
This cross-sectional study assesses trends in total cigarette retail sales, menthol cigarette sales, and cigarette prices in the US from 2015 to 2021.www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
That’s a very small timepoint in a trend graph that stretches across 37 years. In any case, the decline in sales slightly slows across those same years.I was going off your graph which showed a decrease or stabilisation around 2003-04 but use continuing to fall steeply.
Not really. It's about four years where the sales are stable or decreasing. But sales going down rapidly. That’s a very small timepoint in a trend graph that stretches across 37 years. In any case, the decline in sales slightly slows across those same years.
Were you a Wheel of Time guy? I remember one of the Whitecloaks was described as obsequious. Or was that Padan Fain? f**k knows.I would say the correlation is obsequious at best.
Yeah you're too old now. I think it was late teens I started and it was great but pretty soon went off the rails. He created a great world but lost track and then had the nerve to die.I read the first book only a couple of years ago and was unimpressed. I probably would’ve loved it when I was 13.
I first heard obsequious on a Steve Martin standup video back in the day, when he performed this song:
Sorry, I just wanted to say 'multivariate' because I thought it would make me sound smart...
Allaned by fingers?
They put the sold out sign up last game vs Pennys too. I was there and it wasn’t. I reckon it was 70% at best. Very odd.General Admission sold out so looks like it will be close to sell out again.
Yeah i suspect a fair few season ticket holders didn't turn up.They put the sold out sign up last game vs Pennys too. I was there and it wasn’t. I reckon it was 70% at best. Very odd.
Your mum will be stealing your lettuces while you are at work today.Ur a f**kwit
2 40/20sMitchell kicked a 40/20 the other week that turned the momentum against penrith when was the last time he attempted it before that though.
Mahoney is the only one that normally attempts them.
