Can he tackle, still only young?

seemed to defend well enough in the nines. he can always be hidden in defence to a degree (like Toddy is). we need attacking flair and the kid has it in bucketloads.
If Toddy is out, Fifita is our next best attacking option. So we need to try something.

I would go Penani to half and Holdsworth to 5/8. Penani is a potential gun, does anyone else share this opinion?

I can't say mate, haven't seen much of him.

I am an advocate of playing guys in their best position. If someone in firsts is out, the lower grade player in the same position is in. If not, the lower grade player will begin to think he'll never get a chance.

However, Lichaa is next in line for firsts, so I won't mind if Morris goes to the halves, in this instance. Maybe all Lichaa needs is an opportunity??

Peach could have stayed at the Sharks. He was being picked in the top squad. he was offered good money, but he pharked off. So phharrk him. Good riddance.
If Frizell & Peachey were on the market for the same money I would take Frizell over Peachey.
if Holmes, Brown, Licha, Frizell, Bakuya were all on the market with Peachey, I would take any of them before peachy.
Over rated player with no real position.

Complete crap

I like Penani, but he's pretty green. Maybe another year in NSW Cup unless injuries force him to debut.

Huh?
Was being picked in the top squad. = true
Was offered good money for a fringe first grader = Double true. Offered overs by the Sharks
Went somewhere else = Could only be for money, as he was playing first grade for the Sharks when he made his decision.
Good riddance. = Very true. We now get to keep better juniors on reasonable money.

Don't understand which cold hard fact, you think is crap.

I for one wish we had retained Peach but, from what I've seen of Brown he more than makes up for the loss.

He has plenty of speed - off the mark and over a distance.
Unpredictable.
Can cover several positions.
Reasonable in defence - low tackler which I love.

I also think Peach will be a star of the game. He could have stayed for a bit less coin if that was the issue but that's the modern game = $$$$$.

I still think Peachey is playing in the wrong position.
The dudes a halfback or 5/8 or fullback not a freaking lock.

Hard to determine. What position does peachey play?

Would have been a bench player for us. Come on for Gibbs or Taga and move Gall to prop. Quite likely do a decent job in the 2nd row too. Probably better than in the centres than some of our starters.

Disagree with others. I think he is a decent lock. That would have allowed Gall to play at prop. But Gall didn't want that.

By the way , what position does Brown play? I like him too , but also a great utility bench option. What is Gall's position? Lock or Prop?

We will be able to judge Peach after a year at the Panthers. Until then lets can this stuff. Many like him and Reefy doesn't. That's it really.

The off season for David Fifita sees him get his usual spot. NSW Cup benchie. Lot of love for him at the club and on the forum just because he is Andrew's brother. He trains with first grade , yet Junior (who doesn't) doesn't but gets picked ahead of him for NSW Cup. Tim Robinson's status confirmed too. But I do think he is not a first grader.

I do think we will get good value out of Prior, he is a good forward and not a centre, what he has as well is some speed he gets through line will cause issues.

I do think we will be surprised how he goes.

Play Brown for Carney not J.Morris we dont want yet another forward moved into the backs, early rounds of the season many clubs will give new guys a crack at FG, you dont want to risk further injury

No, he left for stability. He fled a potentially ASADA-sunk ship. I don't blame him for a second.

Reasonable call. I think it was a combination of stability, better offer and more first grade chances.

He wasn't personally worried about ASADA as he knew he wasn't part of the 'treatment'. Thought it might lead to him getting more games. He was wrong.

Those suggesting he will play at Penrith cos of his salary (ie Reefy) could do well to remember our own Karl Filinga. 200k for 7 mins. The new $BW he was not. I think his experience left us nervy with young promising players.

C'mon Reefy we know your out there, committ. Is Brown a 6,9 or other? Is Prior a centre , second row or prop? You do like to nail players to a position. What the hell is Stapo , wing, FB or centre. Also why is Leutele out? Your thoughts. Stop hedging on Brown especially.

Yeah, I like this philosophy. I don't like the idea of playing people out of position; it's destabilising for the team. Keep the strongest player in each position there and fill in injuries with straight replacements...I've never liked reshuffling.

That was how Craig Wing ended up in the centres at the Chooks under Sticky!

Prior and Wright are both being picked because of what they are paid and to justify their paycheck.

We have a better centre in LooTV and better back rower in Sopoaga.

Not having an 80 min hooker is killing us by wasting a bench spot.

Negates our great forward depth.

Leutele was never even a remote chance of being selected in the top 17. He may be good enough put Shark politics was never going to let it happen.

Sometimes the least talented players ARE the best players for the situation.

Just sayin'
