He needs to replace Davey on the edge so we can just use him as a decoy ffs

Who knows what would have happened, our shit edge defence was way why we were down 16-6. They waltzed down that edge all night. It’s what cost us the game at the end when they just went two passes wide and went through a gap you could fit a truck through.
20 runs and 30 tackles not enough for you?

So if everything we did caused us to lose maybe Matterson should've played even fewer minutes?
Yeah we really need our best forward playing less minutes. Davey is where it’s at baby!!
What about Lane
He played in the middle, where runs and tackles are more important than minutes. If he can bang out his 23 runs and 32 tackles in 52 minutes why not give him a rest? Davey played on our right edge where his job in attack is to make the odd hit up and otherwise run decoys on shift plays. Why would we want to waste Matterson doing that?
Well maybe, but he is an integral part of our left side attack. He made as many runs as tackles ffs.
That observation might be very relevant or it might be one of those memorable things that skews your perception of how relevant it really was to the outcome. Personally I didn't think Lane looked fatigued (and he only made 21 tackles in 80 minutes). I just thought he had the dropsies.
He needs to be starting IMO, especially with Reg out.
