Hey Cappy, did you finally work out that Lousi is shithouse? Such a dick move putting RFM back to NSW Cup for two weeks then bringing him back. Two weeks that could've been continuing to learn at the top level, instead given to a spud who is leaving and couldn't manage 50 games in 6 seasons.

And hey yeah, keep with the Hurrell on the bench philosophy it's working brilliantly. He looks hungry when he gets on.

I dont think id ever start Hurrell again, especially with down to 8 interchanges.

Hold him thru the first half as back cover then unleash him, and feed him the ball constantly for 25-35 mins

I don't see a big difference when he comes off the bench. Either have him for 60-80 or don't have him?

BTW- Peyroux's defense has been as bad as Hurrell's ever was.

What's last years excuse?

He was great last year.

Dont know why people thought otherwise. But I sopose there was that dumb "but he doesnt break the line on kick returns!" rabble.

I ran the numbers last year on try assists, metres gained, tackles, line breaks etc and he was in the top conversation in all of these... statistically he was up there with Slater, Inglis and Hayne.

This year he hasn't been good. But when he signalled his return to Wigan, I doubt he cared too much any more for this dud of a club and I dont blame him. We failed him more than he failed us this year.

Tomkins was good last year. Not a superstar…which is what we expected him to be. This was supposed to be the year when he made good.

Pomkins has been a huge disappointment, both years.
He never lived up to his hype and apart from the Warriors, I think he would struggle to start in any other nrl side..

I can agree with this. We expected superstar status, but he was just "good". I dont think we should scoff at that though. I'll take GOOD players anyday. There is nothing wrong with GOOD.

He was suppose to elevate this year, and I expected him to, which he didn't, thats my biggest dissapointment.

Sam has been a huge letdown - plain and simple

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league...per-ginuwine-two-days-before-tigers-thrashing

This is kinda funny, I don't really give a toss - but 1. God, listen to some decent music! 2. When the team's f**ked, why do you feel the need to post this shite on social media - that's just asking for trouble. 3. Manu - if you're not at the game, stay of twitter/instagram/facebook or whatever for 80 mins - is it really that hard?

It's an interesting dilemma, they are entitled to having a life, but not many professions allow for mid week partying, no drink involved, but if you out late you sleep less and there are clear links with lack of sleep and performance.

Manu should of been watching the team, plain and simple!

He wasn't bad and isn't a bad player, but I think it's a huge stretch to call him 'great'.

He took six weeks or so to eliminate shocking howlers and learn how to defuse bombs and mark up on defense properly. Once he got that going he didn't offer any speed or clean breaks, only being a link man and organiser (which he was very good at).

Statistically he might have been up there with Slater, GI and Hayne but his *impact* on this team is not even in the same ball park as those three. As Penrose Warrior and someone else mentioned he's honestly somewhere around the 12th best fullback in the comp which is terrible for all his so called superstardom. His ESL and International heroics are null and void in this comp.

I agree with you on your last point, he's actually stopped giving a f*ck in the last couple of weeks and who can blame him. Even Mannering and the Hoff are phoning it in now because of the rabble around them. Good luck to him, seems like a good bloke.

I just don't see the need for them to plaster it all over social media - if they go, fine, just don't broadcast to that extent especially when they're playing so poorly

Yes, poor from Manu, expected better

Really though? He spent a good part of the year isolating defenders one on one against Konny. It's not him doing some crazy run/linebreak, but I call that a huge impact. We've missed the Tomkins-Hurrell combination on the right this year... hugely. In terms of impact on their team last season, Tomkins is probably 3rd/4th in fullbacks (albeit in a pretty rubbish team). In terms of overall performance, a little less so.

Anyway, last year he was quite good - not his price tag good, but good enough to sit in the tier just under the top 2 fullbacks that season (Inglis & Hayne). The real problem is that he didn't kick on with it. He needed to get better - and injuries & early departure (and seemingly having checked out for the past month or so) have meant that instead of improving, he got worse. It was promising, but looking back I think you've gotta call it a flop.

I agree with some of the naysayers and some of the guys talking Tomkins up.

He is a tremendous link player, with fine ball skills and hands. Playing out the back of SJ, he made Kon look great. I was a fan of his last year. I didn't see an issue that he couldn't break the line etc because he put others through it.

This year, injury has stopped his momentum somewhat, and also SJ being injured/out of form/confidence whatever early. Plus the fact we're even worse than we were last year.

But he is a shocking on-line defender. He is too small to hold up attackers close to the line. He is often out of position. He is not a metre-eating fullback (not essential, I'm just saying). He is not quick. He is not particularly good in the air, and certainly was crap early on his time here. And a lot of his good 2014 games (in fact nigh-on all of them) were against weak sides. He never got going v good sides.

And if he's checked out (I haven't watched) then he's also a hypocrite talking about professionalism.

Massive flop, all things said. He was a marquee, big money signing. We'd have got that sort of value out of buying Peta Hiku back.

I did forget that, it's incredibly annoying. He did it again for Simona's try when he got gassed on Sunday, did he not? Either he has a poor running style which needs to be rectified or implore your sponsors to give you some decent boots. Either way yeah it's f**king annoying to watch a 'professional' fall over like someone in U10s would when they forgot the right sprigs.

Yes, this is about right in my book of rightness.

With results so far, I think the Bulldogs are now assured of either 5th or (more likely) 6th, and there's no real difference between the two as far as their finals progress goes.

Hopefully Des rests his best 20 players and we'll have a shot.

Or they'll whip us by 100-odd points to grab 4th.

Scary thing is if they're in the mood there could be a record drubbing for the taking

I think we might go well, shouldn't overlook that Lillyman aside this is our #1 pack
