Doubt we'll see White for the rest of the year, barring injuries. With Cross, Tolar, Royal, Faas and (sigh) Wicks all available for selection, I can't see White getting a game.

That, and the fact that he signed for the Titans today

Yeah I realise that, roopy suggested swapping he and Mac in attack and defense. Decent enough plan, but I doubt it will come to fruition.

My main problem is, he has bombed several tries this year, and butchered his own brilliance in breaking the line simply because he can't pass. I just don't understand it. I would like to utilise him in a way where he doesn't need to pass. Being a ballhog always seems to stick with players.

:( Bye White. We'll miss you next year when Danny Wicks is still in our team. We'll miss you for the next 3 weeks as well lol

Smith seems incapable of reversing a position on a player. Fair enough he didn't rate White before, but surely he's done enough, since that initial appraisal. A 1 year contract means he must be going cheap.

I thought Smith liked big forwards and hard defense. What about that isn't a part of White? He'd also be our youngest (effective) prop, it blows the mind that a coach would let that go.

Ah its funny, If White got re-signed and came out next year and played a bad game you would all be cursing. Im not too fussed with him going, sure he played alright but that doesnt mean someone else wont next year.

Dont know why Houston is being dropped he has been working hard on his error rate and hasn't been playing that bad although he could have got more involved. Simmo wont play when he missed the few games earlier in the year they said each week that he was looking good to play and yet it took 3 weeks. When is Zeb back?

Housto ,Uate and Vuna not named anywhere in the NRL or NSW cup side. Does that seem unusual to anyone? Are they being "rested" or are we going to see jumpers 20, 21, 22 etc run out on Saturday night?

the thing with white is that it's hard to gauge the worth of a player when they're battling for their careers. we can pretty much assume that what white is producing now is probably him at his absolute best. i'm guessing smithy can spot a bit of josh perry in the bloke, in that he is currently performing while it's contract time... but without that added motivation is probably not worth our while.

just a theory. personally, i would keep him if we could have kept him for dirt cheap (and all indicators suggest that this is the case)... however i can probably see why smithy isn't interested.

I've always thought White was a good contributor for his age and relative experience. He had a good start to last year. He's coming of age now, and we should be reaping the benefits. Really, who can deny that throwing him an 80k a year contract would be a bad investment?

White is young for a prop.

Physically, he is probably our best raw material. Quite quick, 110+ easily with a good tank and improving every year.

Who else do we have in that mould?

The best thing about White is he has been playing prop since day one. The toughest position on the body and he is never injured. The guy is built for footy. Its an incredible asset.

Now what will happen is he will go to the Titans, be one of the best starting front rows along with Bailey and his value will increase, and I don't think we'll see him back here as long as Smith is coach :(

Exactly, he is made to be at very least a very solid prop. I may be mistaken, but is that not what we need? With Royal departing as well, who do we have? A bunch of light pseudo 2nd rowers (Tolar, Tafua) Cross, Faas and Wicks. A couple injuries and we've either gotta move Simmo or bring up unblooded rookies. White would have paid for himself several times over, he has metres in him, which is something noone else but Cross really does (Faas sometimes).
