I'd say any of this schooling he did was undone by 3 stupid penalties. Should have been about 5 with the amount of delayed flopping he did.

I agree with zoidberg, he wasn't schooling us. He had a ripper game no doubt though but has played a lot better than that before.playing with a broken arm was pretty tough.

Would love a big bopper prop and there is one due to be available in January/February with hopefully a new attitude. Any takers..? I'm 30/70.

Who, Rusty?

I am looking forward to Vatuvei schooling Uate. He's the player that Vatuvei tends to be reliable in schooling.

Be stupid to go there again, surely...

Fifita's performance was excellent, and only the ineptitude around him prevented Cronulla winning... with Matulino on the edge, we are seriously short in the middle imo, and scary to think what the Souths pack might do to us...

The Cronulla game was hugely disappointing imo, we're well off the boil atm and might struggle from here on unless something changes... Johnson back is key, but time will tell

Totally agree. I was just wondering if that's the guy he was referring to. I don't want him in our environment.

Also agree that I think we need Matulino in tighter if we're going to make any headway in September. Sure he can punch holes out wide in lower sides but Souths are going to kill us up the middle.

SJ back is great but I'd prefer to see our props really step up this week and win the metres battle. 100+ from 2-3 of them would be encouraging

Along similar lines, I think we need Matulino playing as close to 80 minutes as he can (without losing effectiveness) in the big games - some of that in the middle and some of that on the edges. Just like we need Lillyman playing 60+ minutes.

We need Sammy to step the hell up and start playing like the international prop he was.

Over the long-term, props seem to be the most up and down players in the NRL -- top echelon are consistently great, next lot look like champions for a year or two and then lose the plot like or Sam or Tim Grant....we need a Steve Price! Or Fafita...

Yeah was just a thought though.

Also is Friendy signed for next season? I think this game will be a good indicator as to how he will be used for the rest of his time here. Can't see him providing too much impact from the bench.

Wonder if Laumape will be left or right, would like to see him inside Manu I think.

Nah to Rusty bro.

Too much of a risk and dont think he'll have learned his lesson by the end of his term.

Heard this too along with a mention that soft tissue injuries shouldn't be travelled with unless they're ready to go.

While it still falls into a must win to keep top 4 hopes alive, I hope like hell its 100% and doesn't blow it out, as he is very important in our finals campaign.
Maybe he will play reduced minutes?

Rapira reconed ( about this game ) that " as long as we stick to our processes we will be fine " .

Sam's from that era of 'coached interview technique' whereby players spin the rhetoric of cliche that we dislike so much " Playing for the full eighty....paying the opposition respect and respecting the pill " etc etc.

That statement from Rapira reflects very subtle changes post the new coaching regime I recon.

It is very un Warrior like to finish a cliche with the promise that " we will be fine "

What that says to me is the psychology of the team has altered.....to believing in the new game plan....sincere belief that they 'will be fine' in any game against anyone if the stick to their processes ( game plan is the lingo I'm used to ).

Good stuff.

Rapira the player is recovering from that back injury, as such I expect he will hit full speed again like any Prop in recovery a hand full of games post return.

Takes time eh. Props are heavy machinery, If you watch Gold rush the gold mining show...you would be used to the Machinery breaking down and needing constant Repaira as par for the course.

I think a few have forgotten his injury..

With Hurrell back we are at our 100% best team IMO. He would have to be 100% though, no way should they risk him of he isn't. Him and Johnson are vital for any finals chances.
