Team v Panthers

See now you really have me in a tizz. Do I head to the hospital mental health crisis centre or do I get a ticket for Saturday's game?

Tell you what happened today, it was a lovely sunny day in Panther's territory, Monday morning, a new start. Forget the weekend horrors.

It's Warriors' La La Land...we can do it...I can see the headline already, 'Warriors keep finals hopes alive with crushing win over Panthers'.

I find it laughable that Kane Evans launched the most ridiculously blatant shoulder charge on Kasiano - when the laws clearly forbade it - and got a slap on the wrist, and now because the NRL's hierarchy are knee-jerking nitwits they've decided to get hard on it and Ben might get a four-week skate. I could care less, I know our season isn't officially over but we all know it is. If it wasn't, it would be a disgrace. And even more hilariously, the refs saw it in full view, didn't penalise or report it then finally decided to at halftime. Our game is truly run by fools (not our club, our game).

We're a chance against the Panthers. If only for the fact Ivan has no chance of knowing what we'll do given we're absolutely unrecognisable from the decent outfit he used to coach. And his side lost one of the most dreary crap-fests of all time last weekend.

It's absolutely ridiculous what they have done with this shoulder charge nonsense

I look at our game, and I see Mason looking at 2-3 weeks for bracing himself for contact, while Stewart misses 1 week for splattering a guys nose across his face

Greenburg is a blight on the game

Couldn't agree more - you simply can't have this reactive shit mid-season, and consistency is what's required...

How on any planet can it be right that Evans got nothing, Matulino and Mason will have long-ish spells, and high shots seem ok by comparison

I see the sense in that, there might be as much to lose as gain by playing anyone in the last 4 matches where we might get belted. And who's ready? I don't think Lino is, Sigley we'd rather hold back, then guys like Palavi if he's leaving there's no point.

So it'll be last week's team pretty much. Is there any word on whether Matulino is up for suspension?

If Lino isn't ready now, he'll likely never be. We might as well find out - we're out of the race (realistically), and it's not like he's coming up against an opposition side playing a particularly high standard of footy. Not much to lose there, and potentially a decent option for next year's #6 (backup or otherwise) to gain.

And Sipley is injured isn't he? Knee or something? Been out for a while? Or am I dreaming it?

We have also now been informed by the NRL that multiple headbutt are fine and you won't miss a game ...

The bad news for everyone wanting to clock off early (including me) is that it's not quite that easy.

With four rounds to go we're actually still in the race for a finals spot. Our draw is OK, the Bulldogs and Manly have some awkward games. If they drop a few and we learn how to win again then it might be interesting.

I've lost my mind somewhat but I'm not all born-again evangelical, just stating fact. It could come down to the last round vs Bulldogs.

What is certain is we have to roll the also rans on Saturday.

*Admin please feel free to delete this post if you think it's crazy-talk.

True in theory, but it doesn't matter. Even if we could win the 3 Sydney games, no way are we beating the Cowboys and our differential is trash now.

Short of a huge turnaround, it will be surprising to see us win another game. Although what is the bet we get into a position to make the finals against he Bulldogs so they can break our hearts again with another rubbish performance in a do or die match.

Over it for this year, watching the rugby this week.

Seriously, the response to that performance is Wright shifts to the wing for injured Manu, Peyroux to centre, and Hurrell to the bench?

Surely there's some good young backs in the 20's or NSW Cup? Instead of picking rubbish like Wright and Peyroux who is already leaving?

How many guys have we used this season? Do we have 2nd-tier cap room? Who should come up from NSW Cup?

The above are all honest questions. I'm on holiday at the moment so have neither the time or desire to check stuff.

with the exception of Fusitua there's really no one else they could pick

Fusitua is still injuried isn't he? Anyway, options...

There's a young bloke by the name of Marata Niukore who shifts between centre and second row (and NSWarriors/20s), he's a talent.

Or just pick a halfback (Mason Lino? Hingano maybe?) and allow Lolohea to cover the outside backs.

Throwing Abbey out there could have been an option if he was staying.

Allwood, if they rated him - which apparently they don't anymore (he seemed decent against the Broncos though).

Fish could go to the wing (probably my least favoured of the options so far).

After that you're starting to really stretch it to guys like Kaveinga, Ulberg & Aoake (since Jarrod Tua seems to be also injured? or has he left without me realizing?).. so no go there, probably.

Well they dropped Havili anyway. Extra Hurrell on the bench.
Bonus I guess.

It'll just be the Warriors luck that Friend gets injured in the first minute and we're left without a hooker ... ha ha ha

Ha, hardly anyone cares any more. St Seasonsover Day has come in early August.

More baffling selections.

Why the hell pick a guy going to Super League in a month over Konrad? Does Cappy know something we don't in terms of his future? Not like Peyroux has been good in there in the past, in fact I remember the last time he played there he got skinned by someone, James Roberts rings a bell but I could be wrong. Fairly sure it was the Titans. So that's a rubbish selection, even if you're not taking 2016 into factor. And obviously if Friend goes down, we're buggered for a hooker.

So now we've had a rotating centre rotation of Wright, Fusi, Hurrell, Peyroux and the only constant being Kata who has been shit for a month. Even Wright gets a week at centre, does nothing wrong and is pushed out (I know to cover Manu but still). Why does McFadden keep complaining about combinations when he refuses to give anyone extended time in a position? Injuries is a lame excuse.

And Kata continuing to play is doing no one any favours.

This coach is doing my head in.

I can see the logic behind retaining Kata even if most people disagree, but theres just no logic to Peyroux. Its a big FU to Fish as a wing

No one to blame for that but Fish for his poor performance last start. I'm sure he would have had the spot otherwise. Unlucky season for him with injuries and form really, we had enough issues to have space for him on the wing most of the year.

Still, I'd give Fish another go over Peyroux to see if he can go better. Done for the season anyway, and not really many others to choose from that aren't leaving next year. Not much point in having Fish at all if he can't make a team with such poor form and injuries.

For sure, Fish played poorly... but Kata has been poor for 6 weeks, and the kid's confidence must be in the sewers... and what exactly did Wright do wrong in the centres... just makes no sense

And Peyroux  he tries, but he' no centre, and unfortunately no backrower either
