Did you see the Kata incident. Not much in it, but acted like a total hothead wank

Yeah I did see it. No real contact made. Well not knee to head anyway. I think a penalty suffices. Look at Gallen v Broncos the week previous, with forearm to players head. Now that deserved a week or 3. Grub everywhere you looked with that one.

And yes it was pathetic stuff, but I guess a Grade 1 contact charge would have to mean there was actually contact??? What led to this though? Was the Sa player holding his leg in the tackle or something, maybe trying to earn a penalty. I've looked at it a couple of times and still unsure?

oh dear, a week for disingenuous PR oriented apologies - Veitchy still the uber bottom feeder there

They can't be serious, notably with Hurrell

I almost feel sorry for Veitch - as soon as I read that 'apology' I thought crikey mate you are really screwed. Worse PR exercise ever.

THE drugs scandal engulfing the Warriors has taken a bitter turn, with veteran winger Manu Vatuvei granted leave on medical grounds.

A club statement on Tuesday confirmed Vatuvei has been given permission to take an indefinite break from football.

It’s the latest development in an ugly situation in which five Warriors players are accused of mixing prescription drugs with energy drinks.

The alleged incident happened two days after last week's Anzac Day loss to Melbourne.

“Following medical advice received today, Manu is now on leave,” the club statement said.

“We would ask that everyone respects his and his family’s right to privacy at this time.

Don't see any need for Thompson tbh - it's the IL argument in reverse - yes he's arguably good at running lines on the edge, but defensively he's pretty woeful (not the Lone Ranger, but consistently a problem)

Arguably? He IS a good line runner, unquestionably. His defence - he's had one bad game as far as I can recall. Generally he's very very good, and he's also very good scrambling. This year in his 5 games he's made 220 tackles, missing 10, 95.65% tackle completion rate which is very good by NRL standards. Hoffman in comparison, in 9 games, 197 tackles, missing 21, 90.3% tackle completion rate. There's more to it obviously, but frankly I think Thompson has been one of our standouts all year when he's been fit.

Same team, Mannering in for Lousi. Not sure if Leuluai or Lolo are fit. No need to bring back the other blokes.

It's going to be stupid if this "sorry" mob just turns up and all the replacements, of which all performed, get dumped. The danger is that they'll turn in a couple of smashing weeks then go back to their usual moody ups and downs.

Be interesting to be a fly on the wall - from the outside it seems a simple "sorry chaps" isn't really going to cut it... while the Dragons were shit and in reality we were simply less shit, at least there was a determined effort for most the game - they were desperate... don't see that too often from this lot...

And Hurrell's re-tweet, are we really expected to believe "sorry Cappy, my bad" is enough?

Meh - sure, but there seems to be an equally big myth that's developed that Mannering is not a good line runner...

Anyway, my view (and your stats don't change it) is that both Mannering and Hoffman are far superior players to Thompson, and that we would be better off with a big body in the middle wearing 13

Almost? Nah... so glad the father responded today, and added some truth to that bullshit

Mannering still out, TL at 6 (GROAN), Tui 1 and Fus on the wing

Matulino and Bodene back... good side, no Mannering yet

Manu to be a late change with Wright dropping out, surely. Otherwise, eh, not a bad team. Hopefully Lisone and Vete have good games in the reserves and work themselves back into the top side.

Yeah, i'm happy enough with that side. Hopeful Mannering will be a late inclusion.

Good team but shame Lolo not at 6. With Allwood in the 18, it wouldn't surprise me to see a late change with Fusitua to fullback, Allwood to wing, Lolo to 6 and TL dropping out.
