Team v Penrith

Boyd will come up and plant his feet, Capewell will turn in, DWZ shooting up and in while Panthers winger scores in the corner.
That’s pretty much exactly what happened for the two tries Maly scored on that side over the weekend.

First Berry and then Leka got held up watching someone running at Boyd’s outside shoulder and were slow to release which left DWZ trying to cover a 3 on 1 and then a 2 on 1.

Dunno if there’s a lack of faith in Boyd’s defence or whatever, but McLean will tear us a new one if they don’t sort it.

I am tired of all the negativity.

yes we are the underdogs

Atleast live in hope and enjoy the fact we have a chance esp playing at home.

Ford is back and will make a huge difference 😅

I hope the team named is a dummy pass and on friday the real team will be named with Tuaupiki and Healey in and Zelezniak out
DWZ will play unless injured because Webby blames those inside him for his poor defenseive reads and his returns out of back end are probably stronger than Tuaupiki in his view.
Healey loses out to TMM who I assume can cover more spots in case of injury.

Most of us have been watching since day 1, not sure if it PTSD or a defense mechanism, years of pessimism or realism.

It's great to be here yes!
Awesome to be at home!
Anything can happen in sports on the day..

But.
We won 4 of our last 11 games.
We are 5 from 10 at Go Media Stadium.
We have lost 9 of last 10 game vs Panthers.

But I'll be watching live and will ride ever moment of it.
Probably be pissed with a refs or bunker call that costs us the game! Not the drop balls or ill discipline!

You've had enough positivity throughout the season that we're just bringing utu with the negativity.

Utu - in the balance sense, not in revenge.

If we're going to lose, a part of me wants that to be by quite a lot rather than very little. I'm not sure I'm coping with a narrow loss!

Nah I want to be in the fight. We got smashed in 2023 first up, it wasn't really close in 2018 (was until Roger went off, then it wasn't) and it wasn't really that close in the Broncos final in 23 either, after Walsh caught the pass from his quarterback downfield. And we dicked the Knights that year.

So we haven't had a close final since 2011. Bring on another one, I say

I hope you're all right. If we do lose then let it be 20-19, with us going ahead by one, with two minutes left, only for Cleary to put a two-point field goal over on the siren, than 42-6.

We'll have the summer to get over it. 😭

The Pro-Palestine March over the bridge should be done by lunchtime. It doesn't seem like a good day to have it with a big football match on.

Plus, the game isn't quite sold out yet, which is a little surprising. Perhaps there's a few '23ers' who no longer have the faith?

Just counted 9 seats left on ticketed. All single seats except 1 set of 2 next to each other.

So how do we beat them?
Need to watch their recent losses.
Offloads, unstructured play might give us a chance.
Going wide early?
We can't out Penrith them, kicking to corner and hoping for mistakes.
I'm trying to envision how it gets done.

Up the middle is our strength for this particular squad. Use Egan and Clark, more support play and decoy runs. Run over them not around.

We can't fall too far behind early, relying in a Panthers late second-half fade is a real go.

I felt recently he was a marked man with the refs. Let's hope he is treated fairly and isn't on their tip sheets.
I am also half joking. Ford has an error or 2 in him and gives away a couple of penalties.

He puts in a big effort though and is the best of what we have. Has got us on a roll a couple of games

We have a better winning percentage with Ford and Tuaupiki in our squad. Just in case anyone wants to know.

Ford has improved his handling errors each year with the Warriors. I guess his dumbness with six agains and getting in the way of our attack is justified to an extent but its our lack of directing from our halves that cause most of this dumbnes. The player rotation from the coach and leaving him out there for too long is also the issue.

Let's gone Wahs.
