Hopefully we can get back on track this weekend. It will also help that the Roosters will likely be missing several players on account of Origin- Tupou, Jennings, Pearce, Guerra, Cordner. Then again, we'll be missing Lillyman and Hoffman- which might be just as tough for us.

I'd go-

1- Tomkins
2- Maumolo
3- Lolohea
4- Kata
5- Vatuvei
6- Townsend
7- Johnson
8- Sipley
9- Havilli
10- Matulino
11- Thompson
12- Faitala-Marriner
13- Mannering

Res- Vete, Lisone, Peyroux, Friend

Hurrell to turn out in the NSW cup.

hmmmm

Can't believe Cordner seems to be a NSW cert

McFadden will keep a steady as she goes approach, I imagine - I'm becoming convinced he's not up to this imo, shame... that said, coaching these f**kwits is a death wish

what would safe look like this week?

Tomkins.

Wright (if he's fit) and Vatuvei

Lolohea and Kata

Townsend and Johnson.

Matulino with Vete and Lisone on the bench. You'll need a prop and Rapira is still a week off.

How do you replace Hoffman? Seems to be either Ikahihifo or Faitala-Marriner. And you'll probably need one of them either way.

Seems like he is going to have to take some risks this week.

I just meant minimal changes - Tompkins back if fit, probably Sebastine for Hoffman, and Mannering to the edge? Dunno

Not sure why Wright would be the one to go, the defensive work of Kata and Manu was as bad as I've ever seen at times...

Pretty sure Wright had a pretty significant head knock.

He might pull up fine- but I am pretty keen to see them persevere with Maumolo.

Yes, liking what Maumolo has done

So, for me, I guess I don't see Wright as a centre. I'd rather have Kata (despite his defensive weaknesses), Hurrell (ditto), Lolohea, Laumape, Allwood…maybe even Fusitua.

If Wright is playing, it's on the wing for me.

Yeah, pretty sure it's a poison chalice. If anyone can coach this squad to success, then they would be a world beater.

They need the talked about "money is no object" coach - the litmus test is get a Bennett, Bellamy, Gould, or Hasler (I know this can't happen, but lets face it Elliott and McFadden (and McLennan) are numpties by NRL standards) - then if we can't play well for a couple of seasons, the conclusion is all the hyped talent is bullshit...

Why would you start the pom and put Konnie in NSW ?

He isnt coming back from any serious injury, unlike Tomkins
He would have been involved in full training, unlike the pom..

There was a bit of debate from Devlin this morning, who reckons we shouldn't even bother with Tomkins given that he's gone soon and is of glass at the moment.

I don't really agree with that, but I don't think Tomkins will make a big difference to this season.

We're probably going to send back Tomkins broken tbh. I hope his heart is in it in Auckland but not quite do sure. Any wordin his injury or is it going to be another Steve Price type injury

Not sure why it would only take a week? :)

I don't think McFadden will get fired under Doley without a 5star coach signed sealed and delivered and would be Knights like in stepping aside because 5star coach came knocking on the door.

Others have mentioned Toovey, who does have a premiership with Manly, but is a well respected Manly legend. I'm not sure how well that would translate to coaching Warriors?
Bennett, Gould would never happen.
Hassler even less likely.
Bellamy is about the only one I could possibly see coming since out of the Sydney fishbowl, developed plenty of Kiwis at the Storm.
He has clearly stated he will end his career in 2016 at the Storm.

With the talent that is coming we do have a limited window at a true shot (on paper) of a premiership.

I agree The pom was knobbled, we knew that last week. Konnie aint. And in all likelihood Tomkins is injured this week as well.

Really, would it have made all that much difference if Tomkins was fit last week? IMO not one iota.

Lousi (if fit) deserves an opportunity to start in Hoff's absence after his performance against Parra. Ikahihifo has done nothing for me in his chances this year so RFM gets a chance (a decent one this time). Havili's game time to continue slowly increasing each week - he looks better than Friend, unsurprisingly. Rapira straight replacement for Lillyman. Hurrell & Tomkins in (assuming availability), Wright & Maumalo out - Maumalo's running was better last week, but he doesn't keep either player out of the team, and maybe a little tough on Wright but if it's a choice between Wright and either Hurrell or Tomkins... well, that's no choice. Kata stays in this week, but put on notice that another dodgy defensive performance will see him play NSW cup. Lolohea is our Mr.FixIt for 2015 to ensure lots of first grade game time (so long as we're still in it - if we get to the point where our season is over early he immediately moves to the 6 jersey), and shifts to the wing accordingly.
