Not to mention, when Kosi was on the opposite side of the field to Coates in 2022, Coates ran in 4 tries past DWZ.

It’s all telling me Kosi is the hero we need.
Wasn't 2023 when Kosi gave up running? I think it was the detail of his lack of effort that brings up bad memories

DWZ as a genuinely shit defender is my greatest triumph as an LU poster, in the face of significant criticism in 23

I’ve never thought Kosi was really first grade standard but my unpopular opinion is that the tales of him giving up, or giving up in a particular game, are largely apocryphal.

I do however assume that the game people are referring to was the nightmare 70-10 game in 2022 which is where Coates scored 4 tries - and full disclosure, I just reviewed the highlights of that game and must confess that Kosi was marking Coates, although the team lists suggested otherwise.

I don't think the tales are apocryphal.

If they are, it has spread like wildfire through social media and on here. I remember him doing it in a game last year as well - failing to turn and chase and show effort.

He's not as bad as Rhythm makes him out to be, but he's kinda earned the fact that people have said no thanks every time he's on the team sheet. However, he was solid on the weekend and I'm more than happy for him to appear again, especially seeing Berry seems perpetually injured

I think I've been waylaid and sent to some academic discussion site....people using apocryphal in a rugby league forum? Sent me diving for the dictionary. Pull your heads in and use words we understand...and more swearing and insults.

Mate, the tales of rugby league fans not having the capacity for sesquipedalian prose are themselves purely apocryphal.

Kosi gave up against the Storm in that Anzac Day game in 2022
As much as I disliked Matt Lodge, I felt sorry for him as every time the Storm scored and we kicked off (and it was a lot of times) he was the first person to meet the Storm forward running off the back fence. Him and the rest of our forwards defended as hard as they could for the 1st 4 tackles of a few sets before watching the Storm spread it wide towards Kosi and watch him GIVE UP on at least 2 of the tries while being down right runny shit on the rest.
He gave up that night and im pretty sure Webster or a couple of senior players called him out on it.
Should of been cut then and there!!

I dont get the Kosi love from the game against the Tigers.
Is everyone praising him cos he made no mistakes??
Is that the guideline now on how we give points to players or have we come to the conclusion that we expect a couple of shit moments from pea heart that he didnt make any against the Tigers so he must be 1 of our best players

He was the 3rd choice on that flank, only playing because RTS went down then Berry.

So does he deserve praise for that performance as 3rd banana? To me, yes. Trust me, watching NSW Cup, he was a far better option than Morgan Harper. Was he in the top 3 on field? No. But I get the praise for him, he was solid

2022 was 3 years ago. He's entitled to grow up and get better.

I mean, people decide for themselves what their criteria is for awarding points. I think generally that there are points given to players when they have low expectations assigned for them and they perform relatively well. Kosi and even Pompey probably got some of those points on the weekend and I'm not mad at it.

Made no mistakes and ran pretty hard and effectively for plenty of meters. It was a fair effort. He plugged a hole effectively. Must give credit where credit is due. I'd still be happy to never see him on the team list again though.

I don't know how Berry's injury is - website says round 6 he's back - but gee it looks like he's going to end up one of those players that is perpetually injured and battling to get back on the park. Which sucks.
