Kearney being coach was my biggest concern, and still is.
Different coach but the same Warriors. The SAME Warriors so far. Kearney did say it would take some time so you can imagine the test of my patience. I just dont like some of his selections but you get that with coaches.

Anyway, Im leaning more towards the players. I think they ARE trying hard but so far, they might want to prioritize ball handling and discipline up there with playing hard. They havent improved much since Cappy, they look either the same (e.g. Tui) or are in a slump (e.g. Kata, Vete). Yes the coach is suppose to change that but we'll just have to wait and see.

I'd say I'll call time of death to our season if we lose this one.
As draw till bye is

Eels (H)
Raiders (A)
Storm (A)
Roosters (H)
Panthers (A)
Dragons (H)
Broncos (H)
Eels(A)
Titans (A)
BYE

On current form we will be 1 from 14!

Shit even if we win we will probably only be 4 from 14 (if a team trips up against us) so 8 points, 4 points for the byes, so 12, needing 16 more points or 8 wins from 10 games to scrape into 8 on 28 points.

Miracle's needed.

I'm just waiting for the Who Should Replace Mooks thread.
You have to be willing to give him 3 years, he did inherit this rabble.
So half way thru year 2 if no results.it will pop up.
It is just frustrating to have the apparent talent on paper, eg Luke, Johnson, Foran and RTS and we most likely won't play finals football on current form.

He had a full offseason to at least get selections and fitness sorted out, if not attitude. Look at us, this season so far is a tired afterthought of last year, they've taken a clean slate and instead of rebuilding taken a huge dump on it by changing absolutely nothing.

I strongly believe Kearney won't achieve anything here, even if it is a premature call.

Hit the nail on the head. Long suffering Warriors fans are expecting miracles..
1. He's working with a squad that have contracts to run out (quite a few this year) so his hands are tied atm - its not the team he would want to assemble given the choice imo. The duds are showing their hands.
2. How many games have those 4 quoted played together - none. Four games in and RTS hasn't played all of them, Foran hasn't played any & Luke has no forwards to work off (personally don't like the guy but he has something to add if he has some go-forward from the pack). Johnson needs a complete team around him.
3. Pre-season works if you've got the cattle, don't doubt they had a good one though - seen a huge improvement in Warriors defense this year compared to last year but heaps to work on. As you've all said the forward pack is lacking & a couple of the backs are soft (no mental toughness).
4. When Bellamy says he can see what Kearney is doing & that he's a good coach, as does Bennett, that's good enough for me...stop harking back to Parra days, that's a whole other story when it comes to rabbles & he never stood a chance
5. It'll get worse before it gets better imo - next year is the Warriors year!

!

Ok you lost me there, our defence is as terrible as ever. Just look at the tries conceded so far.

You make a point also about disproving the duds, yet it took us till round six to remove Tui and we still field Ken and Gubb. Why is Luke still flabby and Bodene huffing and puffing the house down?

Ata is no Foran but he's more than handy, what's the excuse for a spine of RTS, SJ and Luke completely misfiring? We've continued the new traditions of forcing guys out of position, Fus was a gun last year and a zombie now.

Kearney should have changed at least something by now, we have a tough run coming up and we have only beaten the spooners.

I want to see Kearney coaching here until the end of 2019. I am sick of the instability of our revolving door policy with coaches. Kearney. McFadden. Elliott. McClennan. If we don't give a coach a chance, we're going to get more of those names.

If we sign a coach for 3 years, give him 3 years and work on a deal for 2020.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of Kearney as a coach but he has to have a long enough gig to really see what he can do. No point changing coaches before his contract is up unless super coach! (or maybe the Ivan).

And I take no solice in the opinions of Bennets or Bellamys on Kearney. As his former mentors, of course they are going to support him no matter how mud he is going. Means naught.

What I wanted to see was some sort of an overhaul like the Stupid Six Dragons game. we're doing things differently, we acknowledge that the status quo isn't working, we need to pivot and refocus.

And even if we are 1/5 with that, at least the message was we know things are shit; and at that point I'd have agreed this needs time and we shouldn't look into it this early.

I'm really concerned that the club actually believes if we stick to what we have we'll turn the corner. Been long enough to prove that this method will never work.

I don't blame Kearney much at all. He inherited this shit culture and unbalanced squad.

Fish rots from the head. I blame Eric Watson, the previous CEO and this one to a lesser extent. Awfully run football club, all that grandiose shit about being the biggest club in the southern hemisphere and we're about the worst. Going down this bullshit 'Kiwi is best' path, with jobs for the boys who aren't up to it, ie Iro.

And the thing that frustrates the shit out of me the most, the fact we didn't choose the best candidate for the job, due to Watson's bullshit agenda against Cleary. I'm picking Ivan called his mate Scurrah out on being a useless prick. And this is the same Watson who also is believed to be the one that wanted McFudd to continue to coach, and then to stay on staff when it was clear he couldn't.

So yeah, FO Watson. And whether Jim is being forced to dance to Eric's tune or not, it's becoming more and more clear that he's a fine businessman, and good in NRL upper management, but cannot provide adequate direction to a football club on-field. Which is all that matters.

Let's hope Konnie has a bit of a homecoming party tonight.

A big feed would be a good place to start. If I was a Titans fan I wouldn't trust him to be in bed by nine with a cup of cocoa.

I thought Konnie was in doubt with an ankle injury.

Remember, upon hearing that, it used to give us a huge boost as fans, only for Konnie to play average to poor.

That was with us though, he'd sneak in a few airport selfies and photo bombs to really do us proud too
