I’d be dropping Tracey to the bench if Moylan is fit.
I think we can all agree that connors versatility will cost him a starting jersey next year, and likely a bench spot if Moylan is fit.
He isnt very good at centre. Passable as a half or winger or dummy half.

Fixed. There has to be some plan for him though. Otherwise I don't know why he was re contracted

Shaun and warriors will do better than fitzanderson.

Fred's dog owns that.

I would like to see Tracey be given a chance in the 9, Braileys is not playing anywhere near his potential

Blayke is coming along well, Will and tricky make him more comfortable, still less than 100 games, he is doing fine, still looks like a boy band member.

Moylan out until at least round 23.
Trindall and Tracey may be the halves again.
I have a feeling that they may give Metcalf a go first up, but thats just my feeling on it.

Sharks coach Josh Hannay has revealed that Matt Moylan will miss at least another two clashes. Named on an extended bench and tipped to play, Hannay said the star playmaker would not be available until at least round 23. Braydon Trindall and Connor Tracy are expected to play as the makeshift halves as named.

Newcastle have given J. Brailey a week off because he's cooked. Blayke could also really use a spell, but who would even be our #2 hooker? Paterson has been a flop and wouldn't have played for some time. Trindall? Tracey? Magoulias?

The 9 is a specialist position, I've never understood the obsession with wanting every halfback turned into a dummy half

From memory it all started with Mark Soden at the Bears, then Bozo did the same with Toovs.
Next thing you know, every man and his dog thinks you can put anyone there. After all, they don't need to compete in the scrums. All they need to do is pass the ball and tackle.

Bollocks to that.

He has carried their team for most of the season. His effort has been exceptional.

Not that I’m convinced with him, but if we are serious about Tracey playing in the centres next year…then put him in the centres and leave him. I like having Chambers around, but he’s depth.

You're right DJ...it began in that era.
Tony Rea North Sydney Hooker spat it because they dropped him and tried to make half-back Jason Martin a hooked.
It came after scrums became a 2nd row feed so real hookers like John Mcmartin weren't required.
Then former half-backs like Danny buderus who played 7 all their junior career made a career in the 9.
Cam Smith wouldve been a 7 in 1980.

Bradley's not a 9 in the NRL.
Under 20s maybe.
Jets maybe.

Jason Martin! Now there's a blast from the past.

I was working a second job at Norths Leagues when he was coming through. Really good fella.

I'll never forget one night he and I and a couple of other guys from work ended up at the Kardomah Cafe watching the Screaming Jets (pre-first album release) and some drunken wanker took a disliking to him and smashed a schooner over his head. You should have seen little Jase go! He gave up about a foot in height but was absolutely giving it to this other dude. Blood pouring all over his face and everything.

Thankfully he was alright, but man he wasn't taking a backward step.
