what is it with the aussie commentators??? Like 5 times, yes the warriors team is well known for their lack of fitness, their forwards will be running out of steam about .... now. Yet towards the end of the first half it took the Newcastle pack about 3 plays of the ball to get back.

Ergh!, when the Aussie commentators use that excuse of the Warriors in lack of fitness or the big men and that it really gets on my nerves. Can't they think of something else? Something postive to say?!

to me the warriors seem to have picked up their fitnes in the last couple of years. I think that shows in the lack of absolute beltings they have recieved in the last two years.

Me and the Mrs often feel its borderline to that murky subject when we listen to Wayne Pearce commentate. You just sense the bloke wants to rattle off a few comments about how hard their heads are and what they resemble. I love it when he bags them out for being unfit with the implication of their Polynesian attributes, and when you see the guys he's getting into you realise its Steve Price and Michael Luck.

Pearce & co make dumb assuptions about a number of things, but one p*sses me off no end.

Auckland has a mild climate temperature-wise, yet time & time again you hear commentry from one Aussie or another on how the weather conditions in Sydney or thereabouts may start to take their toll on our guys. If you look at the average temperatures for both cities, high & low, theres not a hell of a lot of difference. Brisbane & Nth Queensland, fair enough, but not Sydney.

Its still in the early to mid 20's ATM, yet the guy on with Pearce the other day was crapping on about chilly Autumn afternoons in Akld.
So much football, so few decent callers.

Guys - I'm a Manly supporter, but I hardly think anyone could call Steve Price or Ruben Wiki unfit !!! That's just ludicrous. I'd take them as our starting props any day of the week. I also think you have found an awesome player in that Gattis bloke. It's a shame his career was riddled with injury. He has an awesome ability to throw both sides of the ruck, UNLIKE Michael Monaghan, and kind of reminds me of Cameron Smith from Melbourne. He's ANOTHER player I'd love in a Manly jumper.
I think you guys are right about Pearce & co. on NRL on Fox. At times, they just appear to lack the history in the Kiwi players, wheras the Kiwi commentators always seem to appear to have done their homework. It's quite enjoyable how balanced the NZ commentators are. You should have heard how one eyed the commentators were against Manly in Nth Qld !!! Pffft...
Anyways, should be a tough match. I think both sides are more POWER sides than finesse sides, so I'd say whoever dominates the forward battle could win the match.
One criticism I CAN make about The Warriors, is that they would do REALLY well if they had a specialist 5/8. Alternatively, do what Brisbane did, and make a finess ball runner 5/8 like Webb. Fien's a good 1/2 back.

Ozbash, The Jerome Ropati Haters' Society have had just about enough of your pro-Ropati stance.

If you do not cease with all this bullsh*t about Ropati being a good 5/8. Well, we will just have to go ahead and write you an angry letter, explaining how angry we are with you.:x

All the Manly banners sucked. In fact, the only thing that doesn't suck about Manly are their cheerleaders. It's a shame the match isn't over at Brookvale.

The Warriors should pay Manly to bring their cheerleaders over. Why can't NZ get some decent cheerleaders??? I've been out on the town, NZ isn't full of slappers. I couldn't care less about a dance routine. They can just go out on the field in skimpy outfits and jump around. In fact, that would be so much better. And get some trampolines out there too, and have them wear skirts!!!

I made the comment to the wife that he must think its rainy every day or windy every day in Auckland. Perhaps he played too many test matches in Wellington, which is a weather hole.

In Sydney, today it was mild mid 20's today due to a breeze rolling through, its still been early to mid 30's and higher at times over the past fortnight or so.

How dare you bag Wellington, Iafeta. A customs agent just so happens to be a respected member of the Jerome Ropati Haters' Society, I'm gonna make sure he gives you a full cavity search next time you decide to step on in to Wellington.

i think a lot of manly fans are jealous of the eels.
good wholesome club, take your kids family to a game without worrying about some clown doing free on field rectal exams or terry hill telling every one to f**k off...

All jokes aside, Brookvale Oval is easily the worst footy ground I've ever been to. Its like something out of 1804.

FYI, that happened when he was at the Tigers ;-)

Brookvale isn't the trendiest ground.....but it is in the top 3 grounds in terms of view and atmosphere IMO.

i like the old charm......not selling naming rights to a company :D

Do any international airlines actually go to Wellington?

Mismatch on the wing both in the air and through the hands IMO. Vatuvei has 13cm and 20kg on his opposite Robertson.

Im sick to death of Fien's Bombs but maybe he should keep one or two in his pocket for Sunday. Love to see Vatuvei with ball in had and a bit of space againt his opposite also though.

Gotta disagree, Brookavale's a nice little suburban ground. Shark Park is worse, you can't get a decent view of anything without paying $35 for it, and the Showgrounds are worse still.
