Just on a side note I stumbled across “Freddy and the Eighth” show on You Tube yesterday. Basically Brad Fittler and Andrew Johns discussing the past weekends matches and incidents and the upcoming weekend games with James Bracey.

The arrogance of those two is breath taking.

They both totally dismissed our current form and Johns referred it to a “False Economy”.

They were both asked if we’d make the top 8 now that Moylan was injured and they both flat out said no. Not a chance.

They had another segment later where they were asked to pay “NRL Stock market“.

Which team would you currently BUY, SELL or HOLD.

They both said they’d SELL Cronulla.

Again they stated our form was false and it would get corrected this weekend.

The other thing that made me laugh is that Johns said he would BUY the Broncos and Fittler said he’d BUY the Sea Eagles. Good Luck with that.

I won’t make the mistake of watching Dumb & Dumber again.

My eyes were bleeding from their arrogance and stupidity.

This is the same Andrew Johns who changed his tip on Thursday night to the Cowboys to win, all because the Roosters lost Brett Morris, a winger, just before the start of play. He judged the best team in the NRL for the last few years on a winger being out, the guy really has no idea when it comes to form. To make matters worse, the bloke who came in to replace “the unreplaceable” score five try’s! Haha.
I chose Roosters to win that game by 32 points on the nose, that late Cowboys try f**ked me. I did pick Melbourne to beat the Roosters by 2 the week before so I was happy about that.
Anyway the point of that is, I’ve picked us to win this one.

Crichton is still inexperienced and weak in defence. The only game they lost this year (against Parra) was because Waqa Blake blitzed him during a 20 minute period. Definitely some points up for grabs on that side.

Agreed but talakai lacks speed and lateral movement needed for centres. Straight lines he can cause the panthers problems but if he’s up against Luai kicking in behind him or dealing with Kikau decoys for Crichton I don’t like our chances.

I get what they’re saying - we’ve not beaten anyone of any note. Manly were without Turbo and way below their best, the rest are garbage - if any decent team turns up with a relatively healthy squad and the right attitude, I get the feeling we’ll crumble.
Tomorrow is the acid test - I really hope we’re up to it, but I can 100% see where Joey and Freddy are coming from.

We have ton of talent in this team and to not recognise that we may be just starting to get it all together was arrogance and stupidity.

Yeah I get that, we’re always a chance - Probably our biggest problem is that we’re both a chance of turning up and putting on a show, and equally a chance of turning up and absolutely stinking the joint out.

If we turn up with the sort of attitude Feefs had last week, where we just wanna play hard, trample blokes and rag them back 10 meters after contact in defence - we’re a match for anyone.
If we turn up wanting to throw no look passes and find cheap/easy ways to get out of trouble, we can get hammered.

We absolutely have the individual talent to match most teams on our day - unfortunately we don’t always have the attitude to match. (That being said, us at our best vs Roosters/Storm/Eels at their best, and we’re comfortably beaten this year I reckon)

Eels are no Roosters or Storm, certainly not from a consistency perspective - but when they’re firing, they’re great to watch, and we’d struggle to handle them I reckon.
