I'd have dropped Mr.Squiggle before Beale but I aint no coach.

Our bench looks extremely light

Need to get back to getting Barba, Bird and Val some good early ball with a bit of space. Also, what happened to all of our nice little trick shots around the ruck and inside balls, we seem to have reverted to the standard bore fest rugby recently.

I'm actually surprised Flanno had the guts to 'drop' Beale.
I would still go with the 4 forwards on the bench, but use JSL for 10 mins max. 5 mins either side of half-time for Gal.

Yeah, he's been poor, but Bird offers attacking potential that Beale doesn't - I'm hanging my hat on the hope Bird will come good.

Beale is a steady Eddie at his best, we need better than that if we're going to win this thing - but granted, we need Bird fit and firing.

I'm no coach either but I'd like to have at least one of Prior and Fafita on the field, we're too vulnerable when they're both off. I've seen Birdy pull off some nice one on one tackles, but he does have trouble reading defence sometimes, and his passing leaves a lot to be desired, or his passing decisions at least.

Don't mind Leutele up against Leuilua as he is a bigger body then Beale. If Beale isn't in the starting side, he shouldn't be on the bench. It has to be Capewell. Or hopefully as some of you have already said, Tagatese is a late inclusion but I heard he'll be lucky to be back this year at all?

Agree Tom. Forward rotation is key. Prior can play bigger minutes and it was noticeable that when he went off our ruck defence suffered. Fifita and Gallen are the main go forward men and they need to be playing big minutes too.

Bird was never going to be dropped. I reckon Leutele is seen as being more robust than Beale. He will need to move up quickly, hit and stick to keep Leilua in check.

I viewed Beale as the better player in the endless Beale vs Leutele debate but am comfortable with this selection.

If Beale isn't starting he needs to be out. Cape well can cover the centre position or Lewis. Leutele can shift out to a wing spot. If needed.
