On the Lucky hour the question was put to him (as well the the Maloney contract one- which he found amusing and seems to know about that one, apparently a media story constructed out of an off the cuff comment) and he seemed surprised at the rumour. Interesting.

Good luck to the side though, especially Manu who I hope starts getting some mojo back

NRL is all about pressure, he's always going to face hype when he comes in. From what I've seen of his personality, I think he's up to handling it. Must be something about touch players - SJ seems to have the same assuredness that Benji had.

Great team. Disappointed no Ta'ai, but it will be good to see Steve Rapira get a run.

Like everybody, I was curious to see Johnston get a run, but I'm not convinced that it isn't premature. If Seymour is fit, Seymour should play.

Wow - that's a bit of news. I would guess at Mara or Gavet myself. Still, pretty average to let news go to press when the i's & t's are without dots and crosses.

It better not be Mara, given the limited game time he's getting. I don't care if Friend is an 80 min hooker, Mara is a long-term prospect and should be playing.

Agreed, Mara should be playing some role, and should be seen as the future rake - but if he can get a better deal and more more minutes elsewhere in his immediate future, he should probably take them.

Considering Heremaia has already been told he wont be with us next year, no - he is not the new anything. I don't have a problem with him getting game time. When our forwards get the metres, Heremaia is as effective as any of our rakes, with a better pass.

Absolutely, and I think there would be a number of clubs who would snap him up. Look at how well Seulini is going.

Heremaia is good when we have a roll-on, as said above, but to me Mara is better. Perhaps Heremaia is a better defender, hence why he is getting the gig?

On another note, (and I haven't read much of this thread, so I apologise if I'm repeating stuff here), but I'm still expecting Shaun Johnson to make an appearance on game day. The censorship that has followed the rumour of his selection has been very interesting.

I disagree totally. Berrigan is on the bench because he can cover centre, halves and hooker. i.e like Lance.

Mara has a long way to go before he is in front of Heremia. He will get there, but he tends not to run at the right time and overplays his hand.

Mara needs to continue to do an apprenticeship and he will be the finished product in a couple of seasons.

Ivans job is to win now. Not in two years time.

Yeah that forum is run like a Communist state. If you write something they don't like it'll get deleted.
I know some people who have been barred from that forum, and they weren't even being derogatory. On the other side the Club have to be careful with the whole rumour mill, look at the Tigers....
