I think we need to calm down for the time being as far as Gids at hooker is concerned. We miss Buderus sure, but that guy was 1 in 1000. My own feelings that Gids could make a good hooker aside, he's literally had about an hour of game time since his injury. He gets shunted around enough, at the least he deserves a decent crack at the position where he trained the whole off-season.

I agree Clydesdale needs to come into the mix, but that's obviously at the expense of Waddell. If Gids is still struggling at hooker in say Round 10, then we can start to question it and start looking at other options.

If Gids gave us something to be optimistic about I'd be happy but really he hasn't done a thing except throw a few forward passes, basically the service he provides we could pay Matt Keating a second tier salary to do the same job.
My biggest gripe is his inability to play 80 mins despite all the stuff we always hear about how it he is

Fair enough, I'm just saying we need a bit more of a sample size than 1.5 games before we throw the whole Gids->hooker under the bus.

Also he may very well be capable of playing 80, at the end of the day it's Wayne who is subbing him. Could just be a case of easing him back in after the injury.

If Bennett is using him in spurts might be for impact but neither Gids or Waddell provide any of that, it's just a wasted interchange player and 2 wasted interchanges

I have a bad feeling about Dobson's short flat balls (that sounds weird, maybe I should've said "passes"). I can really see someone reading this pass well and getting an intercept. Hopefully if he can see a defender planning this he will run himself.
They are great passes, but he really pushes the envelope with them. There was one, possibly 2 that I saw from the first half that I thought were forward but not called.
