Stone has signed his own suicide note. He just doesn't have the bottle to be a long term coach.

You know he is phoning it in when they are trying to suggest he's made changes, as they are on the Knights app.

It's the same team and it will deliver the same result.

I just don't see why he is so determined to cut his own throat. He is supporting players who have let him down 5 weeks in a row.

He has a team which is clueless and a second grade side who's morale had just collapsed.

I would just like to understand what exactly we supporters have done wrong to deserve such a club of morons and incompetents.

What i do know and this is coming from a supporter that has been a platnium season ticket holder for 8 yrs, I won't be signing up again, I'm done. That's 4 seats they have lost.

They just can't seem to understand that they are in a performance based world and they haven't performed.

I remember during Stone's first tenure, I had a theory that Stone has a depth chart that he draws up at the beginning of the year and that's what he picks the team on. If in to be honest I cannot remember the last player Stone dropped for poor form, I honestly can't.

I actually can't believe people are so shocked Stone is doing this. It's exactly what he did his first time around and exactly why I wasn't on the bandwagon to put him back in charge when Bennett left.

Noone is shocked No name. Turn it up. We all HOPED he had changed. I doubt anyone really believed it. Bring back Smithy. At least you know these blokes would get a frigging dressing down and players would be dropped. The great iorny of Brain Smith is he saw exactly what is wrong with this place and yet got blamed for being the man who destroyed an already terribly weak culture. The man tried to fix it. He called the bullshit nepotism out for what it is. Bedsy's reaction to Smith's ways for mine was so typical of this club. You are not allowed to upset the applecart.

BSmith would definitely have a few years left in him. Id love to see him come back (even just as Coaching Director in place of Hagen) to finish what he started back in '07.

but we all know the membership would riot...:roll:

lol Smith was the single worst man manager in the history of NRL coaching

Would devide the team then leave before it could be fixed

No thanks

Smith is basically the very bottom of the barrel. There is nothing after Smith. Coaches in U6 competitions could probably do a better job than he has done over his time. There's a reason he hasn't coached for three years despite multiple clubs changing their coaches and hasn't held a solid position at a club since 2006; even then his departure from Parramatta was three/four years overdue. Thing is, we're happy to point out him not standing for bullshit, for making the tough harsh calls, especially the one on Bedsy but where did it get us? Nowhere. Absolutely nowhere.

More recently? He's done a "great" job at Wests. Within weeks got the coach booted in a public farce that killed the momentum of the Tigers season which sparked plenty of in house fighting. It's really no coincidence they were riding well for their roster until Smith arrived.

He was a failure the first time he came here, he will be a failure the second time. He's a cancer to rugby league clubs and should be kept far away from Newcastle.

Smith was a bit too far in the opposite direction. We need a coach with the right balance for the club (understands the culture but isn't a member of the boys club so they can make the tough decisions).

Even though he never won a premiership here I think Warren Ryan was without a doubt the best coach the club has ever had. He understood and respected the club's culture but at the same time it didn't stop him making the tough decisions like moving on Matty Johns and bringing in an import we needed in BK.

It would never happen in a million years but I think someone like Bellamy would be a revelation here. He played his junior footy in Newcastle and thinks very highly of Newcastle juniors and can get a lot out of them as we've seen with Mann, Garbutt, etc. However at the same time he's not a part of the boys club that's been holding us back.
