Everyone is probably thinking origin right now, but i think im actually looking forward to the next knights game more! Plus im sick of dwelling on our poor performance vs the tiges. So lets get the ball rolling guys...

Biggest problem is fitting all of the forwards in now.. im sure ill probly change my mind on this team several times before the game though.

gordon - willing to give him a go next week, can have naiqama as backup
mcmanus
naiqama

lulia - doogs was ok in attack but lulia has been good in D next to vuna and thats what we need atm
vuna
mullo
dureau
royal
bedsy
cross
simo
patto
taia

bailey
house
faaso
wicks

i know most of you will say tolar over wicks but i liked what faaso and wicks offered off the bench in earlier games and want to give that one more try.

(with gids and hilder still out)

think this could be more like the team smithy will name though;

naiqama
mcmanus
doogs
lulia
vuna
bailey
mullo
royal
bedsy
cross
house
simo
taia

dureau
patto
tolar
wicks

or maybe we could get all experimental on the warriors and try some of this stuff;

edwards
uate
mcmanus
sau
vuna
mullo
stig
tafua
dureau
tovo
wulf
patto
faaso

bedsy (supersub)
simo
royal
garbutt

could be interesting, but maybe not in a good way.

1. Gordon
2. Naiqama
3. McManus
4. Sau
5. Vuna
6. Mullen
7. Dureau
8. Cross
9. Bedsy
10. Royal
11. Simpson
12. Paterson
13. Taia
14. Fa'aoso
15. Taufua
16. Tolar
17. Bailey

Very experimental side I know but I believe we need to bring in some new ideas and get the team moving. Dropped Houston (because I think he needs to find some inspiration) and Wicks (because he needs a boot up his arse). Doogs will likely be injured I guess. Gordon, Sau and Taufua justify inclusion on form. Bailey I guess is the wildcard off the bench. Sub for Bedsy at 60m for fresh set of legs and creativity.

The try Mullen scored V Melbourne and the try he set up for Vuna V the Tiges have convinced me that he could be an even better centre than he is a 5/8 or halfback.

We are talking about letting Bailey go so we can buy a good centre, but what if the answer is right under our noses - we have a centre the equal of the best in the comp, and better than anyone who is likely to be on the market, and we also have an above average 5/8 already on the books and keen to stay here?

I say Mullen at centre is worth at least a few games to see how it works - and if he is a potential Kangaroo centre like i think he might be, we can just keep the guys we have and suddenly our backline looks worldclass.

A backline that had

1 Gidley

3 Bailey
4 Mullen

6 Dureau
7 Walsh

Would have 5 guys with passing games as good as the Johns brothers.
15 years ago it was only ricky Stuart and the Johns brothers who could pass like that - now Bailey has a few sessions with Johns and he can pass 20 metres like shelling peas.

I still dont really understand Roopy's obession with Mullen to Centre... I can see it working, but you know like now he is begginning to take control of the team abit, with the kicking out to give forwards rests and what not, taking direction, and showing the team what winning really is, but making great runs and scoring nice tries. I dont think moving him out to the centres will be the best career move for him.

Bailey is good, but expenable simple as that.
What we are looking at next year:
1. Kidley
2. Uate
3. McManus
4. Sau (havent seen him play, but I really dont like both Naquima and Lulia)
5. Vuna
6. Mullen
7. Dureau

Close to the best backline in the competition if you ask me by next year...

Uhh Brisbane? Hunt, Kemp, Folau, Hodges, Robinson, Lockyer, Wallace?
Storm? Slater, Quinn, Chambers, Inglis, Turner, Aitken, Cronk
Plus I'd say the Eagles, Roosters, Tigers and Dragons have better backlines than that.

yoshie, you so crazy...

changes I would make are

Cross in for Wicks
Faas in for Ciraldo
Bedsy in for Young
Start with Simmo and Pato, House on bench
Dureau to 7, Mullo to 6, Bails to bench

If Doogs is injured, Wes to centre, Gordo to FB

I dont think we need mass changes. just an attitude adjustment.

this is what I've been talking about for a wjhile now; short term memories... Naquima was killing it and then had a poor game last week and now isn't good enough to be in the backline...

im with roopy 100% in regards to mullen to centre.

one of the quickest at the club, has a great step. and bailey is in great form. resign him.

1.Kurt Gidley

2.Akuilia Uate/Wes Naquima

3.Junior Sau = close to the quickest back line in the comp.

4.Jarred Mullen

5.Cooper Vuna

6.Chris Bailey
= could be quite like the mitchell pearce anasta combo.
7.Scott Dureau

9.Isac De Gois

14.Hilder

Mullen at number four would give us an attacking line on that side of the field of
Dureau > Paterson > Mullen > Vuna
With Kidley looking to chime in from the back.
Imagine being an opposition wing and centre looking down the field and trying to work out which player you needed to shut down the most?

Seconded!

Will be interesting to see what happens when we have Buderus, Dureau, Mullo, Bailey and Hilder all available again...

centre is such a waste for mullen. he'll get his hands on the ball much less, and he is one of our best players. look at the dragons for inspiration as to why you don't have your best player in the centres. mullen is looking awesome at second receiver at the moment... it boggles me why we would want him anywhere else.

im with macs changes. i can't believe after just 1 single below par performance everyone is going for mass changes. you guys are nuts

!!!!

Funny isn't it? He has probably been our 2nd best back....

Reminds me of the Seage - Thiaday debate.

I like you Roopy, I really do, but please

Mullo is a very special player and as perverse said, he looks right at home playing second receiver. He's a half, not a f**king centre.

Hide Roopy, JD is about to whoop yo ass.
Too fugging right Strange. What a ridiculous thing to say.

As for the team, this is what I'd go with.

1. Adam MacDougall (gets him out of the defensive line with a bit of room to move with the ball in hand which is where he's at his best)
2. James McManus
3. Wes Naiqama
4. Keith Lulia
5. Cooper Vuna
6. Jarrod Mullen
7. Scott Dureau
8. Ben Cross
9. Danny Buderus
10. Jesse Royal
11. Steve Simpson
12. Cory Paterson
13. Zeb Taia

14. Chris Bailey
15. Dan Tolar
16. Richie Fa'aoso
17. Chris Houston
