Team vs Warriors

Well we will see when Round 13 is done and dusted I suppose. My bet is that Sandow remains unsigned.

Sandow isn't the first halfbacks career we have ruined (Tim Smith was amazing). If he has to go to England as well it isn't the definitive mark of his talent.

Take a look at Kearney winning international rugby league for New Zealand for example, he couldn't get a gig anywhere else after us. Not saying he is excellent but reputations can be damaged and similar to Tim Smith, I'm sure Sandow's confidence will take a battering as a result.

Its not only talent that makes a good football player. If sixteen first grade clubs in the NRL turn you down (and this hasn't happened to Sandow yet) it means people that are far more qualified then us don't think that player has enough of those qualities. My opinion is he doesn't but we will see what the professionals think. In the words of Pou,150+ games will be a fair sample size when the decisions are made.

Sandow never played finals before he came here. Rabbitohs played finals right after he left.

Yeah and I think some people need to have a good look at this video

And wonder why they are death riding him to the point they are celebrating his dropping and the return of Kelly. This team is rotten.

He has spent most of it here mate

We are the halfback and coach killers.

If Kelly does nothing for us on the weekend, then we have improved. Sandow has been a net negative for sure and certain. Might put on some points, but costs us far more, and ruins many attacking raids with impatience.

All Kelly needs to do is tackle, and give the ball to Norman. We might score a few less, but Konrad Hurrell won't be using Sandow as his personal speed bump all game.

Good points about Sandow

Hurrell isn't playing

Yes, clearly a youtube highlights video of all the positive things he has done makes him an uber half whom clubs are queuing up to sign. There is little doubt he can do some magical things. There is also little doubt he can do some horrendous things. No patience, no ability to follow a game plan, always revving it to the redline, and more often than not exploding the engine.

And clearly his 84 games for the Rabbitohs are less than his 68 games for us. Obviously it is because he has spent more time at Parra that he hasn't played finals.

As pointed out, Rabbitohs played finals right before, and right after, his time.

The first minute of that 7 minute clip involves Sandow running onto different fields. Every single NRL player could have the same highlights...

The first 5 mins of that 7 mins clip is of him playing at Souths. So 4 years or even more ago.

10% of the video is him kicking goals....at Souths

Every defensive highlight in that video involves a tackle that is now banned from the game.

Now if you want to look at a real highlights clip take a look at this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yItnEVoD0VQ

Wow. So much irrational desire to see Sandow in the team.

He is completely awful. Last week he handed Melbourne 2 tries on a plate - got the ball off the Melb scrum 10m out, and did the most obvious double movement in rugby league history, penalty set = try.
Then a few minutes later, he gives away another penalty, penalty set = try.

That took the score from 10-10 to 22-10. I woulda dropped him for that crap if I was coach. Then his lack of discipline and patience (ie, the ridiculous kick on the 3rd in the 1st half, the hospital passes to his block runners, trying to force a try of every friggin play).
He needs to do what he is told, or not play firsts. Dropping him was the right message.

Yeah because its his fault that our side is mentally weak and cant defend a penalty. Look at the Roosters, they give penalties away on purpose just because they know they an get set and keep the opposition out for the set.

Play that sums up Sandow perfectly and happens often... Finds a hole in the defensive line, makes a break down field early in the set. Players stream down field for the next play when we have the opposition shot to pieces. Sandow tries a miracle offload while being tackled resulting in a knock on. My heart palpatations start again, I realised I've ripped even more hair from my head which I can't afford to lose. Brilliance and stupidity all in 5-10 seconds.

Look up the stats, they show that the penalty set is a large indicator in leading to a try. To give away a penalty while in possession is horrible. Especially when it involves mental weakness of the highest order.

We can argue about it if you like, but the fact stands that Sandow is dropped, that might be an indicator of something?? Especially when you consider Luke Kelly has replaced him???

Probably get a couple of weeks in reserves so that he learns to do what he is told, and to play with a bit more composure.

If you think Norman can do it all on himself you are going to be sadly disappointed. We now have no kicking game this week.

Yeah sorry the attacking raids haven't been ruined because of a guy that runs like a crab and throws the same dummy every run and our poor handling

This tactic had also been tried before. He simply doesn't have it in his game. If anyone thinks he's going to change now they are kidding themselves.

And yet Joseph Paulo is only 2nd in the list of 'most games played without playing finals footy'.....

If you think Sandow isn't the major culprit in our leaking defence, then you're nuts! I realize you like the guy, but he has been awful this year.

Again, here are the facts: he got dropped. Maybe you've been watching his play with rose coloured glasses?

I find it strange De Gois held his spot. He came on for just over 20min. He made 0 runs and created nothing. What did BA like about his performance?

I wouldn't be surprised to see DeGois start at Hooker, Peats at Half and some promising youngster (or Lasalo :sarcasm: ) comes to the bench.

Because apparently his contract guarantees him first grade football
