Teams for 2006

The forward pack is ordinary at best, the backline looks the potential to leak more points then Jenna Jameson's given head jobs. And to top it all off your lynching a season on a blokes in vital postions who are all injury prone. And to really f**k your side around past the top 16 there isnt much depth there at all.

Saying "if they stay on the feild we'll be a top 4 team" is like saying "if we got a good rain pour over the catchment we wouldnt have have water restrictions"... all good in theory but frankly its just not gonna happen. Full strength they are a boarderline top 6-8 team. With any more than 3 long term injuries to the right players and they are spoon contenders yet again

That's the whole point of what they are saying. In theory.

Honestly, i'd prefer our forward pack to most other teams in the competition, and our backline, while poor in defence, has more than the potential to outscore the opposition.

What Plighty said, you idiot

The fact that he blatantly lied in his post shows how little he has.

I know one thing though. I'd rather have the Knights team next year at full strength than the Raiders.

im all for the enternal optimist but that theory is pretty out there. Canberra are in a simular position, but rather than banking on injury prone, we are banking on some untried and tested players... like newcastle, if they come up trumps a top 8 and if lucky a top 4 isnt off the cards, but if a few things go wrong, its bottem 5 time...

biased maybe but i fancy the chances of a few youngens over the chances of newcastle being relatively injury free

oops, forgot tonguey. I'll fix it.

its hard coming up with a team
so many fringes you cant fit them all in and you always feel guilty leaving someone like an Alan Tongue or Kris Kahler out of the team

If the raiders brought in tounge they may have to leave out withers as both are small men

Kahler has shocking hands. Disgraceful.

True but thats about the only thing holding him back from becoming a pretty good player. Ball handling isnt hard to fix, its about creating a better hold for ball security, he carrys it too loosely. Off season should fix that, hopefully.

Ive thought the same 1st, but i think the way tonguey plays, particually this year, we can cope

Souths looking like this:

01. L.MacDougall/A.MacDougall
02. N.Merritt
03. B.Gordon
04. P.Mellor
05. S.Hegarty/A.MacDougall
06. J.Sutton
07. M.Moran
13. B.Rogers/M.Minichiello
12. L.Stuart
11. J.Galuvao

08. P.Cusack (c)
---------------------------------
14. J.Lowe
15. D.Fa’alogo
16. M.Manuokafoa
17. B.Champion

We still have some buying to do and half-back and lock are the real weak areas. Grimaldi is apparently a target of Souths while Sheppard may be the only half-back available unless we persist with Moran or try another up-and-coming half-back.

Newcastle should make the 8 next year if they stay relatively injury free.

We have come close this year with alot of youngsters, so we will have awsome depth and they should handle FG a little better.

close arn't you at the bottom of the table. with only 3 wins
